The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • In a ceremony by the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) to mark the 102nd National Victory Day, the NUG Acting President stated that unity, that has not existed for more than 70 years, needs to be built.
  • On Thursday, the NUG sent a statement to the 102nd National Victory Day, expressing support for the ongoing Spring Revolution against the military dictatorship. 
  • The Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement to the 102nd National Victory Day, calling for more unity and collective effort to prevent the military junta from holding an illegitimate election and grasping power by force. 
  • At 9:30 am on Wednesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and public administration teams from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region. 
  • According to Gangaw District PDF under the NUG Ministry of Defence on Thursday, four members of Saw Township Police Station defected to them. 
  • Via his social media, the NUG Union Minister of Human Rights said he was happy for the political prisoners and people who had been released. He added that there was no need to thank the military junta as it was just done to make them look good. 
  • On Wednesday, the NUG Ministry of Judiciary Affairs announced that it had opened a department for complaints and suggestions.
  • To provide support where necessary in Kachin State, there has been a ‘Passion for Hope’ campaign led by the NUG Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and a famous Kachin ethnic model Angel Lamone. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • On Thursday afternoon, Author Mg Thar Cho, the NLD spokesperson Dr. Myo Nyunt and the 88 Generation student leader Ko Mya Aye, who had been detained since the military coup on 1 February 2021, were released from Insein Prison. 
  • In commemoration of the 102nd National Victory Day, an alliance of students’ unions conducted an anti-junta movement in Yangon on Thursday. 
  • In North Dagon Township in Yangon Region, MPCMF led a ‘Failed Law’ movement in front of a local immigration office and administration department on Thursday. 
  • In Mingaladone Township, a combined force of PDFs conducted an attack using remote mines on the junta armed forces inspecting vehicles on Wednesday evening. 
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship. 
  • At a local market in Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of rural youths and students conducted a march against the military dictatorship, raising anti-junta banners. 
  • In Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region, local people expressed their support for the NUG on the morning of the 102nd National Victory Day. 
  • In the south of Kalay Township, there was an attack on junta soldiers playing billiards in Myauksee Village on Wednesday. Reportedly, two of them died. 
  • In Pale Township, there was a surprise attack on the armed Pyu Saw Htee members growing beans on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, three of them died. 
  • In the Taungmaw Area of Kawlin Township, the junta army invaded the area at about 10:00 am on Wednesday. Reportedly, about 4,500 local people had to run away. 
  • In Taze Township, the junta armed forces were twice attacked with mines on Wednesday afternoon. The exact number of casualties among junta soldiers is still unknown. 
  • In Kawlin, the military junta sealed off a house in Satyone Lebyin Ward, accusing the occupants of supporting PDFs. 
  • In Myaung Township, there was a mine attack on the junta army out of their way from Kyaukyit Camp on Monday. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died. 
  • In Sintkaing Township in Mandalay Region, there was an anti-junta protest in Palait, sharing brochures in support of the 102nd National Victory Day. 
  • In Madayar Township, U Myint, allegedly a junta informer in Yonebin West Village, was killed on Thursday morning. 
  • In Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region, local basic education students’ unions marched against the military dictatorship on the 102nd National Victory Day. 
  • In Paungty in Bago Region, youths took part in ‘Failed Education’ and ‘Failed Law’ protests.
  • Even amidst tight security measures in Taungoo, local people carried out ‘Failed Law’ protests on Wednesday. 
  • On Thursday, Ko Than Htike Aung, the detained Mizzima editor, was released from Yamethin Prison. 
  • A large number of junta armed forces raided the Pa’ O National Defence Force camp. 
  • In Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, mortar rounds fired by the junta army fell in Gyaik Chaung Village on Wednesday afternoon. At least 11 people including children were killed and no less than 27 others were injured. Among them, no less than five victims were seriously injured and were in emergency need of blood. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • On Thursday, the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA). released a statement in support of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit, claiming that political problems could be solved only when the 1947 Panglong Agreement is implemented. 
  • On Wednesday, the Arakan Army (AA) released a statement saying that they would take revenge on those who had been targeting civilians in their attacks and committing war crimes with massacres in Rakhine. 
  • In recent days, there were constant battles between the junta army and the MNDAA. According to the MNDAA the junta soldiers suffered great losses. 
  • In Shweku Township and Hpakant Township in Kachin State, there were local battles between the junta armed forces and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) on Tuesday. 

The Military Council 

  • In a statement for the 102nd National Victory Day, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it was necessary to build a peaceful and prosperous nation with public unity based on the essence of the day. 
  • On Thursday, the military junta announced that nearly 6,000 prisoners, including the Australian Economist Sean Turnell and the former UK ambassador, had been released as part of an amnesty. 
  • The military junta announced that the cases against 11 artists including Phwe Phwe, Phone Theik and Ni Ni Khin Zaw. who were charged under Section 505 (A) had been closed.  
  • The military junta announced that the former Minister of the State Counsellor Office, the former Chief Minister of Tanintharyi Region and a member of the former Union Election Commission U Than Htay had been freed in the amnesty. 
  • On Thursday, the second junta leader Soe Win and members and staff of the military junta were awarded prestigious titles. 
  • On Wednesday, the second junta leader Soe Win said that a Myanmar traditional medicine is in the final stage of safety research before it can be used in COVID-19 patients and those suffering from seasonal flu. 
  • On 2022 World Diabetes Day, the junta health minister claimed that the number of diabetes cases in Myanmar has been rising every year. 
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Health said that there were still about 2,000 Leprosy patients every year and that it was necessary to carry out preventive measures for the disease not to rear its head. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, importers of battery-electric vehicles are to deposit 500 lakh MMK to a bank recognized by the Central Bank. 
  • In Mayangone (3) Ward of Yangon Region, the junta armed forces gave eviction notices to inhabitants of 100 houses. The notices accused them of being squatters and told them that they have to move out within three days. 
  • The military junta announced that there had been a mine attack on a truck driven by a civilian near Taungkan Village in Madayar Township in Mandalay Region on Wednesday morning.
