The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG conducted a program to motivate the family members of the victims who had lost their lives in the air attack on Pazigyi Village.
  • At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and the Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
  • In Dibeyin Township of Sagaing Region, a local PDF under the NUG arrested U Win Myint Aung, a local MP who was dismissed from the National League for Democracy (NLD).
  • In an exclusive interview with Mizzima, the Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment- NUG stated that the Spring Bank would provide four financial services as the first step and gold would also be saved there.
  • No. (2) Magwe District PDF under Ministry of Defence- NUG released photos containing the military training records of their members.
  • In Mon State, the revolutionary forces have been taking up positions on No. (8) Mawlamyein-Yay-Dawei Road between Yay and Thanphyu Zayat. Reportedly, a combined force of the KNLA, the SOF and PDFs has been taking security measures and making inspection on a daily basis.
  • Dr. Win Myat Aye, a Minister of the NUG, told Mizzima that the result of medical check-up was not too bad for U Win Myint, the President in detention at Taungoo Prison in Bago Region.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The UK Government called on the military junta to allow the provision of help without any restriction in the areas which need humanitarian aid in Myanmar.
  • In Taninthayi Township of Taninthayi Region, 6 junta soldiers including an officer died in local battles in Tagu Village Tract over 5 days.
  • On Thursday, Tontay PDF announced that they had nothing to do with the robbery at Myat Maung Gold and Jewelry in Za Ward of North Okkalapa Township in Yangon Region.
  • On Wednesday, the US Government placed sanctions on the junta Ministry of Defence and the two banks used by the military junta to procure weapons and other items with foreign currency.
  • In Kalay Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army shot mortars into Eastern Santha Village for no apparent reason. Consequently, a child aged 5 lost their life and all the other family members were injured.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta armed forces have been raiding 7 local villages.
  • In Myaung, local PDFs conducted simultaneous attacks on 3 stations of the junta army. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • On Thursday morning, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Ayadaw Township, a combined rally of local strike committee and the PDFs protested against the military dictatorship somewhere on Monywa-Mandalay Road on Thursday morning.
  • In Pakkoku Township of Magwe Region, there was an attack on a car of junta soldiers and Pyusawti members in Kamma. Reportedly, 8 junta members died and their car was burnt by the PDF.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, a local PDF attacked Chaung Taung Inspection Gate on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Western Fruso Township of Karenni State, the junta army conducted an aerial bomb attack on a local village. Reportedly, 3 houses were damaged.
  • The US Government placed economic sanctions on the MFTB and the MICB, the two banks under the military junta. Regarding it, the revolutionary forces released a statement welcoming such action.
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there were exchanges of fire between the junta army and local PDFs between Khinmakan Village and Yonetoe Village on Tuesday. Reportedly, 4 PDF members lost their lives.
  • The Special Envoy of Human Rights to the United Nations stated that the ASEAN must exclude Myanmar’s military junta from high-level meetings.
  • In a liberated area of Chin State, a hospital was opened and it provided medical healthcare to over 200 patients after a month.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a raid on the office of the Kachin Independence Army(KIA) on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 3 people died and 7 others were injured.
  • On Wednesday, the United Wa State Army announced that they would not withdraw their 5 camps on the borderline of Thailand and Myanmar.

The Military Council

  • In Fruso Township of Karenni State, the junta army conducted 3 aerial bomb attacks on a local village where there was no fighting at about 1:00 am Thursday.
  • The director of a junta department stated that the military junta would use 700 million MMK to maintain Inle Lake in Nyaungshwe Township of Shan South for the current fiscal year.
  • The junta Ministry of Electricity signed an MOU with the Russia-based Nova Wind JSC Company for 3 wind power projects in Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
  • The junta labour department temporarily revoked the licenses of 6 overseas employment agencies sending workers to Thailand.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win stated that it was necessary to give special packages and tax refunds to attract international tourists.
  • On Wednesday, the junta Union Election Commission approved the registration of the People’s Labour Party and the Myanmar’s Farmer Development Party.
  • From 26 to 28 June, there will be a meeting between the 5 EAOs and the junta NSPNC in Nay Pyi Taw.
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Information stated that they had been carrying out activities to take action against those stealing the copyrighted work of artists and distributing it conventionally or online.
  • In Taninthayi Region, the military junta banned travel on the Myeik-Dawei-Pulaw Road for nearly two days. Reportedly, they reopened it on Thursday morning.
  • The junta Yangon Regional Chief Minister stated that they would collect biometric information in 6 target groups simultaneously in 45 townships.

Summary on 23 June

  • There will reportedly be a meeting between 5 EAOs and the junta army. It will not work and the 5 EAOs might even get hated by the public.
  • The US placed sanctions on the two banks supplying the main foreign currency flow for the junta army and thus, the military junta might face negative consequences.
