The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • During his trip to Japan, Mr. Thomas Andrews, the United Nations Special Envoy of Human Rights to Myanmar, met with some activists of the Spring Revolution including the NUG Representative Office- Japan on Saturday.
  • According to the Ministry of Health- NUG, the military junta has conducted aerial attacks targeting the public in April, destroying four places including three hospitals.
  • According to the End of Dictatorship, the sale of the Spring Inya Condo, which will be constructed on Parami Road in Yangon, will get started on 29 April.
  • On Friday, the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children- NUG made an online presentation about their activities and action plans to the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH).
  • In Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region, there was an attack on the junta armed forces including Pyusawti on secret patrol at Kyuttoe Police Station on the night of 20 April. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of ‘Never Turn Back’ protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of local villages from Yinmabin and Salingyi marched against the military dictatorship.
  • A rally of Yinmabin North marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Wetlet Township, there was a clash between the junta army and the PDF near Aung Chan Thar Village at about 8:00 am on Sunday. Afterwards, the junta soldiers set fire to the village.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army burnt Lay Dwin Cin Village in the north of Pazigyi Village on Saturday morning.
  • For the IDPs in Sagaing Region, the S&C dug wells for water.
  • In Taze Township, two women from Kayanchan Village hit an unexploded bomb set by the junta army on Saturday morning. Consequently, the bomb exploded, killing a woman and leaving another one injured.
  • In Khin-U Township, another displaced old woman died of extreme heat on Saturday. Reportedly, the IDPs have been facing difficulties accessing water.
  • In Yangon, former military officer Sai Kyaw Thu, the Deputy Director General of the junta Union Election Commission (UEC), was shot dead on Saturday. Reportedly, he was the right-hand man of Thein Soe, the current Chair of the junta UEC.
  • Myat Thu Thu, a well-known actress for her movie series, was arrested and charged under Section 505 (a).
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwady Region, Urban Guerrillas conducted two bomb attacks at the house of the Deputy Regional Police Officer in Ward (5) on Saturday night.
  • In Paungty Township of Bago Region, the PDF attacked a junta convoy at about 4:00 pm Friday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers including a captain died.
  • In Natoegyi Township of Mandalay Region, there was a mine attack on a military convoy near Tharyargone Village at about 12:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region, revolutionary forces attacked the junta inspection gate of Phayame in Maungmeshaung Village at about 5:30 am on Sunday.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, the junta army arrested about 50 people from Yange Village at about 7:00 am on Sunday.
  • For the health and education of IDPs and the revolutionary forces in Chin State, the Tumi Lottery had a special feature ‘The Revolution Thingyan’ and they spent the fund on the health expense of the victims of the junta’s aerial bombing.
  • At about 2:00 pm Saturday, Myanmar Muslim Revolution Force conducted an online movement- ‘The Revolution Eid’.
  • In Wekan in South Korea, there was a protest against Myanmar’s military dictatorship, along with the opening ceremony of a Myanmar restaurant.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kyaukgyi Township in Bago Region under Karen National Union Brigade (3), there were attacks on four junta army camps simultaneously at about 4:30 am Saturday. According to the KNU, they managed to destroy two camps and 16 junta soldiers including officers died.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, the KIA and PDFs attacked a group of junta soldiers having fun at Happy KTV on Saturday night. Reportedly, all six junta soldiers died.
  • In Falam Township in Chin State, there was a remote bomb attack on the junta army on Saturday morning.
  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, the junta army conducted airstrikes and fired heavy artillery at the Kyauk Mine Area near Mekane Village on days and nights to invade the area. Consequently, there have been local battles until now.

According to the spokesperson of Chin National Army, there have been local battles between Chin Forces and the junta convoy on the way from Gantgaw of Magwe Region to Hakha.

The Military Council

  • The military junta sent Cluster Bombs, powerful explosives which have been banned internationally, to Magwe Air Force.
  • The junta Motion Picture Association announced that artists, who have won academy awards, will be provided with real gold brooches if they attend the junta academy award ceremony.
  • The junta Minister of Electricity inspected the repair work of the 3 towers of the national grid near Tada-U in Mandalay Region on Saturday.
  • The junta Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation announced that factories and workshops in Yangon Region must not use power from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am starting on Sunday and there would be action against those who fail to follow the rule.

Summary on 24 April

  • After the Deputy Director General of the junta UEC was assassinated, the high-ranking officers under the military junta have been deeply concerned about security. They have been relocating and asking for security measures.
  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been burning villages after the battles against the revolutionary forces.
