The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration said that South Regional PDF had given an award to sniper Comrade Spring or Pho Lone who managed to assassinate 37 junta soldiers in 6 frontline battles within a year.
  • On Tuesday, the NUG Ministry of Natural resources and Environmental Conservation announced that they did not acknowledge the 6th selection of CEC and EC members of Myanmar Gems Business Association in cooperation with the military junta.
  • According to the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration the SPECIAL OPERATION FORCE (S.O.F) has been operating directly under the South Regional Military Management.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State under the control of the Karen National Union Brigade (6), the junta armed forces have been carrying out aerial bombing many times via four fighter jets.
  • In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, local PDFs conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta armed forces which had burnt Nyaunggone Village. Reportedly, no less than 40 junta soldiers died and their weapons were confiscated.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Shwebo District, Tiger King Guerrilla Force led an anti-junta campaign on Tuesday.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, a rally of gems workers marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army set fire to Nyaunggone Village at about 4:00 pm Monday. Reportedly, the whole village was burnt down.
  • On Tuesday, Technique & Drone Force under Kalay PDF got started with their 500-AirBomb project.
  • In Banmauk Township, a monk named Thuria from Kyaungle Village Monastery was caught by local PDFs on Sunday.
  • In Mandalay, protesters took to the streets on Tuesday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • According to Yadanarbone University Students’ Union, five CDM staff members from their university were arrested on Saturday.
  • According to Justice for Myanmar, Euromoney the UK-based banking and financial media corporation awarded the junta linked, EU-sanctioned United Amara Bank (UAB) its Best Bank of Myanmar award.
  • In South Dagon Township in Yangon Region, Tin Aung, a USDP member and junta informer, was shot dead at about 8:30 am on Tuesday.
  • In Mayangone Township, there was a grenade attack on the administration office in Ward (3) on Monday night.
  • On Monday, a responsible person from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that there had been a phone conversation between the Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar and the Japanese documentary maker in detention, and they could confirm that he was in good health.
  • In Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region, the Earthquake People’s Defence Force attacked the junta army stationed in Ashay Bonekan Village.
  • In Kyaiklatt in Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion at the junta inspection gate at the exit of the town at about 5:30 am on Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Mutraw District under the Karen National Union, the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (406) fired mortars. They landed on the roofs of people's houses and exploded.
  • In Mone Township in Kayin State, there was fighting between the junta armed forces and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) near Kanazoebin Village at 5:30 am on Tuesday. After that, junta soldiers made fired from helicopters causing local people to run away.

The Military Council

  • Min Aung Hlaing said that if the ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) still wanted to take up arms after signing the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), they could join the military and border guard force.
  • Out of 400 billion MMK from the national disaster management fund of the junta Ministry of Planning and Finance, 10 billion MMK was allocated to Chin State to promote the economy. Reportedly, there was no one took the loans.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the national loan of 400 billion MMK to the agricultural sector was being wisely spent.
  • Dr. Soe Win, the junta deputy minister of Sports and Youth, said that it was necessary to nurture future generations to have the right attitude and to be on the right path.
  • According to the military junta, they have been inviting CDM staff, students and youths to return to legal protection. So far, over 3,000 members of the education staff and over 200 PDF trainees have done so.
  • According to the junta court, they approved the special appeal of Aung San Suu Kyi's brother, U Aung San Oo, related to sharing their inheritance of the property at No. 54 University Avenue in Yangon where Aung San Suu Kyi lived for many years.

Summary on 24 August

  • After the transfer of regional military officers, the junta armed forces have resumed their heavy invasion of all battlefields. With a great loss, they have conducted air strikes day and night in Sagaing Region and Kayin State.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that after signing the NCA, the EAOs would be allowed to take up arms if they join the military or border guard force. He did not mention what would happen if the EAOs fail to do so. Therefore, it is time for ethnic revolutionary forces to make up their minds about whether to stand for justice or injustice.
  • Even amidst oppression and arrests all over the country, there were still anti-junta protests. The same was true for the urban guerrillas who continued their revolutionary activities.
