The National Unity Government (NUG)

 

  • In his weekly speech to PDFs on Wednesday, the NUG Minister of Defence stated that it was more important not to take the wrong steps in the revolution rather than how fast or slowly they take the steps.
  • In a meeting with the leaders from the CRPH, NUCC and NUG on Tuesday, the MPs from political parties in Norway claimed that there would be an extensive discussion on federal democracy in Myanmar and practical help in February 2023.
  • At 8:00 pm on Monday, there was a video conference meeting between the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and Committee Representing the Chin Hluttaw (CRCH).
  • In cooperation with the NUG Ministry of Health, the medical team from the Yinmabin and Salingyi Strike provided healthcare at an IDP camp in Sagaing Region.
  • On 18 November, in the No. (1) Military Area, the Western Brigade (7) Unit (703) conducted an event on completion of their special commando training Batch (1).
  • In Kani Township in Sagaing Region, the 2022 interim education funfair was held at a community-based school.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Hmawbi Township in Yangon Region, there was a mine attack on the junta inspection gate near Thephyu Village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.
  • On Tuesday, Ma Thuzar, a detained freelance journalist, was sentenced and charged under Section 505 (A) at the junta court inside Insein Prison.
  • In Alone Township, a member of the Urban Guerrillas was injured in an accident while preparing to fight against the junta army in Thakhin Mya Park on Sunday. Reportedly, he was arrested by the junta armed forces.
  • In Taze Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army set fire to Nanwindaw Village at 7:15 am on Wednesday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, there was a mine attack on the junta army in charge of security for the transportation of copper from Wan Bao Company. Reportedly, four junta members died and many others were injured.
  • In Sagaing Township, local guerrillas conducted bomb attacks using drones on the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Marletaw Village and the house of a Pyu Saw Htee leader at 2:00 pm on Tuesday.
  • In Kalay Township, Urban Guerrillas announced that vehicles were not allowed to use the road section to Tamu starting from Wednesday due to military operations in the area.
  • Tamu PDF Battalion (3) announced that the Tamu-Kanpet Section on the Tamu to Kalay Asia Road could be used starting from Tuesday for the convenience of the public and the smooth transportation of goods.
  • In Khin-U Township, Kantbalu Township and Ye-U Township, the junta armed forces attacked local villages with fighter jets on Wednesday afternoon. On the ground, the junta army troops also burnt people’s houses.
  • In Myinmu, there was a grenade attack on the junta army taking security measures at Myanmar’s Economic Bank at about 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, five junta soldiers died and two others were seriously injured.
  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, the junta army burnt Sathein Village again on Wednesday morning.
  • In Myaing Township, local PDFs conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta army, which had burnt Bahin Village and a local police station, at 2:30 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, there were many casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Myaing Township, there was a clash between the junta army and local PDFs near Thayetkwa Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township in Mandalay Region, there was a grenade attack on the junta administration office of Za Ward at 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, a Pyu Saw Htee member died.
  • In Bokpyin Township in Tanintharyi Region, detainees ran away from a local police station between 1 and 2 am on Tuesday.
  • In Yebyu Township, a police investigator and a retired policeman were shot dead on 18 and 22 November.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, 11 political prisoners in Pathein Prison were sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday.
  • In Phyapone Township, the military junta opened cases against the wife of a policeman and two local business people on Tuesday, accusing them of supporting PDFs.
  • In Ye Township in Mon State, there was an attack on the car of a local chief police officer i and his team at about 8:30 am on Wednesday. Reportedly, three members of the junta police died and an M16 gun was confiscated together with a revolver.
  • In Paletwa Township in Chin State, the IKACC has been carrying out the Kimo Project to raise 5,000 lakh MMK to support local revolutionary forces.
  • In her trial on Tuesday the State Counsellor, Daw Aung San Su Kyi, said that the hiring and procurement of helicopters for the assessment of natural disaster risks had been done in accordance with legal procedures.
  • To support Myanmar the Stars of Myanmar Friendship (UK) has been conducting a fund-raising event with lucky draw tickets.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, the junta army ambushed Cobra Troop who fight under Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion (27) on Tuesday evening. Reportedly, three Cobra troop members wee killed; two women and a man.
  • Between Hakha and Thantlang, 20 junta soldiers died and 11 guns were confiscated with bullets in local battles from 1 to 18 November.
  • According to the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) on Wednesday, an unknown group threatened a local businessman in Loikaw and told him to give millions of MMK to the revolution.
  • In Indaw Township in Sagaing Region, the junta air force bombed Oatshitgone Village on Tuesday afternoon. At 3:00 pm on the same day, there was fighting against a combined force of the KIA and PDFs.

The Military Council

  • In the national literary awards ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that a literary hall was being constructed to help develop Myanmar literature.
  • On 17 November, the amended 2022 Taxation law, signed by the junta leader, was adopted.
  • According to BBC Burmese, the junta Minister of Defence was not allowed to join the 9th meeting of the ASEAN Defence Ministers + 8 Partners, which was held in Cambodia and included countries such as the US, China and Japan.
  • In a coordination meeting on Tuesday, the Chair of the junta Union Election Commission said that 135 ethnic groups should be identified and listed so that they can choose ethnic representatives for the election.
  • On Tuesday, Myanmar and Cambodia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in anti-corruption activities.
  • According to the department of customers’ affairs under the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, beans will be exported to EU countries during the 2023 bean season.
  • According to army sources, the military junta will show off Russian SU-30 and Chinese FTC 2000 G fighter jets on the 75th anniversary of the air force on 15 December.
  • According to journalist sources in Nay Pyi Taw, the military junta arrested two journalists working for the junta propaganda media; NHP and Debyaw.
  • In a meeting with the members of the Union Solidarity and Development Party in Monywa on Monday, the Chair of the junta proxy USDP said that PDFs from Sagaing Region were foolish youths and that USDP members should move forward drying tears and grasping swords.
  • According to gold business sources, the military junta will investigate seven business people from Yangon involved in the gold trade, for withdrawing millions of MMK.
  • In Mingaladone Township in Yangon Region, the military junta forced residents to leave 10,000 houses in Pyinmabin Village Group by 22 November at the latest, accusing them of being squatters. Reportedly, some residents have started to move out, but others have not.
  • In Kokang Self-administered Region in northern Shan State, the Laukkaing People’s Army shot junta soldiers robbing a money changer on Monday night. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.

Summary on 24 November

  • Generations of Myanmar military dictators, have suppressed the news. They have also oppressed journalists, article writers and authors. The military junta, led by Min Aung Hlaing, is no exception. They have been arresting and imprisoning people even for having an anti-junta status on social media. They have also arrested and imprisoned those broadcasting protest news as well as their own propaganda journalists when they say things the junta does not want publicised.
  • Having suffered great losses in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been indiscriminately setting fire to villages. Consequently, thousands of local people have had to run away. The military junta has also blocked off access to support for IDPs.
