The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On 21 June, U Aung Kyi Nyunt, the Chair of the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw, and U Kyaw Htwe, a member of the Central Committee of the National League for Democracy, met with Ms. Henrietta Levin, the Southeast Asian Director of the National Security Council of the US White House. Reportedly, they had a discussion in support of Myanmar’s federal democracy.
  • In New York of the United States, there was a meeting among Union Ministers of the NUG, the Myanmar community and the Spring Revolution support teams.
  • In cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG, Chin State People’s Police Force conducted state-level basic interrogation training.
  • The Interim Chin National Consultative Council released a statement on Sunday, calling for continuous effort while keeping in heart the words of student leader Salai Tin Mg Oo.
  • The National Unity Consultative Council warned that China should avoid activities against the desire of the Myanmar people if they would like to be a good neighbour to help Myanmar resolve the crisis and to maintain the sustainability of its interests in the country as well as mutual benefits.

Revolutionary Activities

  • Even amidst a lack of stability, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin continued their march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Myeik Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta organisations spread propaganda brochures. At about 9:00 am Sunday, they beat and arrested two young people who had refused to take their brochures in Myitnge Ward.
  • In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army fired shells on Saturday and Sunday. Consequently, 2 local people lost their lives and 10 others got injured.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta army raided a local PDF camp near Kindaw Village on Sunday morning. Reportedly, they shot dead 12 PDF members.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • On their 826th day of protest, a rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta troops entered the area in ships along Ayeyarwady River. Due to their gunfire, a local resident was injured in the chest.
  • In Paungty Township of Bago Region, there was a battle between the junta army and the PDF at 8:30 am Saturday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, there was a mine attack on a junta troop, killing no less than two junta soldiers.
  • In South Korea, there was a football match on Sunday to raise funds for the revolution.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Nyaunglebin Township under Karen National Union Brigade (3), the KNLA and PDFs blew up Yan Myo Aung Bridge interconnecting Kyaukgyi and Natthangwin.
  • In Kyauktagar Township of Nyaunglebin District under KNU Brigade (3), the junta army shot heavy artillery though there was no fighting. Consequently, 4 local people lost their lives and 8 others were injured.
  • In Hpasaung Township of Karenni State on the Thai-Myanmar border, PDFs attacked 3 camps of the junta army and Border Guard Force (BGF).

The Military Council

  • On Friday, the junta Central Bank announced that it had been taking action against 51 people and a company in accordance with laws for illegal financial transfer services.
  • According to local sources, the family members of the junta army are being sent to Loikaw and from Loikaw Air Port, they are being sent again to Naypyi Taw and other parts of the country.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that the military sportsmen not only won prizes for self-defence but also excelled at traditional sports.
  • On Friday, the junta Union Election Commission met with the chairs and executive members of some registered political parties in Yangon; the Myanmar People’s Democratic Party, People’s Initiative Party and the National Political Alliance Party. They then inspected if those parties had been behaving in accordance with the existing laws and by-laws.
  • In Mawlamyein Township of Mon State, the military junta has been constructing a new prison.

Summary on 26 June

  • Like the other military dictators, the junta leaders have arrested business people by force when they fail to control the financial flow and the nation’s economy. Currently, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing has been doing the same for their failure to deal with the consequences of economic sanctions.
  • The junta armed forces have been burning villages and killing people. Consequently, local people have had to run away every now and then.
