The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Starting on 25 May, the QR Code of the certificates issued by the Ministry of Defence- NUG can be scanned to identify whether they are authentic or not.
  • The Ministry of Health- NUG honored Maung Swam Htet aged 22, a medical student who sacrificed his life for the Spring Revolution in Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region on 22 May. They also offered their deepest condolence to his family.
  • At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
  • On Wednesday, the United Nations called on the military junta to ensure the delivery of assistance to the areas hit by the Cyclone Mocha and open the ways for aides.

Revolution Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin conducted their 779-day protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Banmauk Township, nearly 20 junta soldiers including a captain died in the battle near Kyaungle Village.
  • In Indaw Township, the junta army carried out an aerial bombing on Ywartharyar Village. Reportedly, a monastery was damaged.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta soldiers stationing in Amyint Police Station confiscated motorbikes for no apparent reason and demanded 300,000 MMK to return each one.
  • Somewhere in Yangon Region, Sanchaung General Strike conducted an anti-junta movement on Wednesday night.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs- France announced that they had been making arrangements to provide assistance to the storm victims in Myanmar.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, there was a battle between local PDFs and the junta army at the inspection gate in Mankyingone Village. Reportedly, 2 civilians died of gunshots and 3 others were injured.
  • In Kyankhine Township of Ayeyarwady Region, a local strike committee conducted an anti-junta movement on Wednesday afternoon.
  • In Thandaung under Karen National Union Brigade (2), the junta army has been firing mortars into the wards in town for 3 consecutive days.
  • In Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region, local PDFs attacked with mortars the junta army stationed in the school of Mingan Village.
  • In Sintku Township, the junta armed forces shot mortars into Kyaethe-In Village and Kyunggyi Village. Consequently, 14 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • The military junta arrested a rapper named Byu Har, who had sworn at the military junta and the junta Minister of Electricity, on social media for long hours of power outage in Yangon Region.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the east of Dimawso Township in Karenni State, 40 junta soldiers including a captain died in battles over 10 days.
  • In the east of Dimawso Township, a member of Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) 09 lost their life in a battle against the junta army invading the area.
  • In the west of Dimawso Township, the junta army has been carrying out aerial bombing constantly starting on Wednesday night.

The Military Council

  • The military junta announced that PDFs had attacked a car of civilians in Pulaw Township in Taninthayi Region, killing 2 people and leaving 3 others injured.
  • The military junta stated that they had offered religious title to Ms. Lee Jung for 2023 at the junta’s Myanmar Embassy in Seoul on Wednesday morning.
  • On Thursday morning, there were two explosions in Thakhin Mya Park while the junta members were making inspections.
  • In Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State, the junta army officer Tin Swe inspected the survey collected on the situation of local schools and houses being damaged by the Cyclone Mocha.

  • In Kayah State, the junta army has been invading the area via aerial attacks and mortars; however, they have suffered great losses on the ground.
  • So far, the military junta has not allowed the United Nations and international organisations to enter storm-hit areas. The same happened after Cyclone Nagis and the military officers just pretended as if they alone could handle the situation.
