The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • At the meeting of the United Nations on Monday, Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the mass murder of civilians in a junta airstrike in Hpakant was a war crime and genocide. 
  • On Monday, the NUG announced that the air strike by the junta army in Hpakant Township in Kachin State broke international law. 
  • The Central Executive Committee of the National League for Democracy (NLD) called on the United Nations Security Council, international organizations and world leaders to join hands with Myanmar people to remove and take action against the military junta that is killing civilians on a daily basis. 
  • In A Nang Pa of Hpakant Township in Kachin State under the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Brigade (9), a music concert was held prior to the 62nd anniversary of KIO/KIA. At that time, the junta army conducted an air strike using fighter jets at about 8:00 pm on Sunday. As a result, at least 50 Kachin artists, business people and members of the public lost their lives. The Interim Chin State Consultative Council expressed its strongest condemnation of the attack. 
  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, sports events were successfully held at a school from 19 to 23 October under the guidance of the NUG Ministry of Education- NUG. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • In Shwepyitha Township of Yangon Region, there was gunfire at the administration office in Ward (27) at about 2:00 pm on Monday.
  • Reportedly, the wife of the administrator was hit by a bullet and died. The attack was carried out by a combined force of a local PDF and theYangon Urban Guerrilla Army (YUGA MO 7 Eagle). 
  • In Thaketa Township, a grenade was thrown at the electricity office on Myindawtha Road at 7:35 pm on Monday. Reportedly, it did not go off because of a defect. 
  • In Mingaladone Township, the Young Defence Power Force conducted a bomb attack on the administration office of Yegyi-I Ward at about 2:00 pm on Monday. 
  • On their 593rd day of protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Tuesday. 
  • In Butalin Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army fired on and raided Magyioat Village at 5:00 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, a local woman was killed and three family members were injured. 
  • On Tuesday, God Of Monywa warned the general public not to use Monywa-Ayadaw Road as the junta armed forces have been passing it a lot. 
  • In memory of Ko Ye Htet Oo who was kiled last year, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Tuesday. 
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army set fire to Hanlin, an ancient Pyu city, on Monday morning. They were attacked with mines by local PDFs. Reportedly, there might have been many casualties. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army burnt Zawchaung Village for the fifth time at 11:00 am on Monday. Reportedly, 147 houses were burnt to ashes. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army set fire to Alekone Village at 7:00 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, three houses were burnt to ashes. 
  • The PAFD called on the general public to contribute to the procurement of two M16 guns to be used in the fight against the junta army. 
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, a local PDF destroyed the junta gas pipeline on the night of 22 October. 
  • In the east of Myaing Township in Magwe Region, a large number of junta armed forces has been invading the area. Starting from Tuesday, the Pakkoku-Myaing Road will be temporarily closed by local PDFs. 
  • The Light of the Future group donated 100 lakh MMK for Daungmin PDF based in Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region to buy an M4 gun. 
  • In Bokpyin Township, Mg Soe, a driver of a stone truck, was shot dead by junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members for no apparent reason at 10:30 pm on Saturday. 
  • As a part of the Nan Htike Aung Operation, Paungty PDF shot dead the junta administrator of Hleku Village in Paukkaung Township in Bago Region at 11:00 am on Monday. 
  • On Monday, the Southern Shan State Revolution Force was established by a combination of PDFs and Urban Guerrillas based in the local area. 
  • In Loikaw in Karenni State, a junta police sergeant was shot dead in Pankan Ward at about 10:30 am on Tuesday. 
  • In Loikaw Township, the junta army fired mortars into an IDP camp in Konetha Village on Sunday night. Initially a displaced person died and later, on Monday night, another woman, who had been injured in the head, passed away.
  • According to the P.S.P.T (People Soldier's Production Team), they have been arranging to support Ethnic Revolution Forces (EROs) by repairing their defective weapons. 
  • On Tuesday, 457 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) called on ASEAN to leave Myanmar out of all their meetings and mechanisms. In the open letter, they also said that ASEAN should work to end the brutality of the military junta. 
  • On the 62nd anniversary of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), the junta army conducted an air strike on a music concert. On Tuesday, the Democratic Party for a New Society released a statement condemning such attacks and claiming that it was genocide. 
  • A spokesperson of the Japanese government condemned the junta’s aerial bombing, which had caused many casualties among civilians at a music concert prior to the anniversary of the KIO. 
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, the junta army dropped bombs on a music concert. One day later, an MP from Victoria State proposed that the Federal Parliament should immediately put in place economic sanctions against Myanmar’s Army. 
  • On Monday, the United Nations announced that the use of lethal force by security forces in the attack on civilians was unacceptable and they must be held accountable. 
  • On Monday, the embassies of the US and the EU in Myanmar released a joint statement about the junta’s air strike on a public gathering in Kachin State in Northern Myanmar. They also stated that Myanmar military dictators were responsible for the crisis and instability locally and regionally. 
  • Military medical officer Prof. Kyaw Bone Myint was violently arrested by the junta army for changing his Facebook profile picture to express his sorrow for the casualties of Kachin people due to the junta’s air strike. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In the speech on the 62nd anniversary of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), Chairman N'Ban La informed the public that they would fight with a new strategy of shifting political and military momentum which could end the rule of the military dictators in Myanmar. 
  • Via social media, brigadier general Gun Maw, a KIO officer sent a letter to the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. He also stated that the sorrow and tears of all people for the A Nang Pa attack would become an invaluable investment. 
  • On Tuesday, the CEC of the KIO announced that they would turn their sorrow for the loss of civilians and their members into revolutionary power against the military dictatorship. 
  • In A Nang Pa in Hpakant Township in Kachin State, there were many casualties in the junta’s aerial attack. So far, 60 dead bodies have been found, 55 others have been injured and some are missing, according to a representative of the KIO/KIA. 
  • On Tuesday, the Karen National Union offered its sincere condolences to family members, Kachin people and the KIO/KIA for a large number of casualties among civilians and artists in the junta’s air strike at A Nang Pa in Hpakant Township in Kachin State. 
  • On Monday, the Northern Alliance of the AA, MNDAA and TNLA stated that it was time for all ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) to take decisive action against the military junta. 
  • On Monday, the Kawthoolei Army expressed its strong condemnation of the junta’s air strike on a music concert prior to the anniversary of the KIO. 
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State under KIA Brigade (9), the military junta prohibited medical treatment for over 100 injured people. 
  • Somewhere in the forest, ZFU/ PDF Zoland said their final goodbyes to those who had lost their lives in the junta’s air strike in Hpakant Township. 
  • On Monday, the Chinland Joint Defence Committee condemned the massacre of the junta army in A Nang Pa in Kachin State. 
  • Starting from 21 October, there have been heavy battles between the junta army and a combined force of the KTLA+ KLNA+ PDF in Kawkareik in Kayin State. Due to mortar fire and air strikes by the junta armed forces, a large number of local people have had to run away. 
  • In Fruso Township in Karenni State, the junta armed forces have been deliberately firing mortars at houses and religious buildings. 
  • CDF – Lautu successfully tested their 81 mm projectiles. 

The Military Council 

  • In Banmauk Township on the border of Kachin State and Sagaing Region, the junta army announced that it had conducted an air strike on the meeting venue of the KIA and PDFs on 20 October, in accordance with the rules of air attacks. 
  • On the 6th day of the junta 2022 Mid-Year Gems Emporium, 652 sets of jade were sold. 
  • In the southwest of Keng Tung in Shan South, a hydropower project is being implemented for the production of 267 million kWh per year and it will be completed in 2025. 
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Home Affairs attended the 90th INTERPOL General Assembly in New Delhi in India and discussed with the Chief of INTERPOL about legal action against Myanmar terrorists in foreign countries. 
  • The junta Edible Oil Committee announced that the reference price for Yangon-based wholesale was 4,175 MMK per viss from 25 to 30 October. 
  • The military junta announced that it was just a rumor on social media that said the junta would confiscate property from households with more than one car and one piece of land per family. 

Summary on 26 October 

  • Covering up the news of casualties among civilians in Hpakant, the military junta spread their propaganda. They ignored the reality of the deaths of Kachin people and artists. They then falsely claimed that only KIA members and PDFs were killed. 
  • There was a lot of harsh criticism and condemnation among the local and international community regarding the junta’s air strike in Hpakant in Kachin State. They have been putting pressure on the military junta to be accountable for its war crimes.
