The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a government meeting on Tuesday, the Union Prime Minister of the NUG claimed that it is quite disheartening to hear the people are afraid of various armed groups and it has to be resolved quickly.
  • According to U Bo Bo Oo- the spokesperson of the People’s Republic of China, China replied that they acknowledge the existence of the National League for Democracy (NLD) and they would keep their relationship with the party.
  • A focal person of Pekone Township People’s Administration stated that the junta army conducted aerial bombings five times via fighter jet on an IDP camp and a hospital in Pekone Township of Karenni State on Tuesday afternoon.
  • In Australia, there was a prayer event for those who have lost their lives due to violent activities of the military junta in Myanmar, along with a fund-raising sale. Present on the occasion was the Deputy Minister of Human Rights- NUG.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a rally of Yinmabin North led a march against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Never Step Back protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Monywa, there was an attack on the junta army demanding money at the junta vehicle registration office on Wednesday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Htigyaint Township, the junta army set fire to Hsin Phyu Seit East Village on Wednesday afternoon.
  • In Salingyi Township, there was a mine attack on a junta troop at about 6:00 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Salingyi Township, the junta army killed the three people who had been arrested as hostages and discarded the dead bodies on the side of the road on Tuesday afternoon.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was an attack via sniper on the junta army stationing in Chipar Village on Monday afternoon. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • Invading the southwest of Khin-U Township, the junta army burnt Tabinkaung (South) Village for the second time at about 5:00 pm Tuesday.
  • In Kantbalu Township, more than 60 IDPs were bitten by snakes and up to five of them lost their lives.
  • In Indaw Township, the junta army arrested 5 people from Manphe Village. According to Indaw Revolution, the dead bodies of those people were found a month later.
  • In Chaung-U Township, a Local Youth Strike Committee provided the IDPs with cooking oil.
  • In Htilin Township, the junta army conducted a fighter jet bombing of the office of the People’s Administration on 20 April. Afterwards, there was an ambush on the junta army on the ground, killing 4 junta soldiers.
  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, there was an attack using small-arms, mortars and drones on the junta army near I-Ma Village at about 4:30 pm Tuesday.
  • In Gyobinkauk Township of Bago Region, Mg Myo, a local member of the Pyusawti and allegedly a junta informant, was shot dead in Sedaw Oo Village at about 7:00 pm Tuesday.
  • In Latbadan Township, a bomb was found near a transformer on the crossroads where the police station, the court and the administration office are located. Consequently, the junta army arrested 6 civilians.
  • In Thayarwady Township, the junta armed forces and those in plain clothes destroyed the NLD office on Tuesday night.
  • In Ayeyarwaddy Region, Gyankhin Township General Strike expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Wednesday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Mon State, there was a battle against the junta army near Painnedaw Village on the Thanphyuzayat-Yay Road on Tuesday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, the Rural Land provided mental health training to the IDPs on Tuesday.
  • According to a parent, the junta army has been after the students who attended the Free Online Education Institution Myanmar (FOEIM) due to a leak of information and the whole family has had to run away.
  • In Daegu in South Korea, there was an anti-junta protest at the Korea-Myanmar Peace Center on Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to the Chair of the Karenni National Defence Force, the junta army has been invading the area with nearly 2,000 junta soldiers since March and they have just ended up failing in their invasion.
  • Somewhere on the Kyauktu-Mindat Road, there was a battle between the revolutionary forces and the junta army on 23 April. According to CDF Kanpetlet, 7 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kamamaung Township on the border of Mutraw District and Thatone District under control of Karen National Union (KNU), a combined force of Brigade (5) and Brigade (1) gained control of Megyita Army Camp.
  • In Duplaya District under the KNU Brigade (6), the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Mekane Area in Myawaddy Township at about 4:00 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, 4 local people got injured.
  • In Phapun District under control of the KNU Brigade (5), the junta army has been conducting secret attacks and aerial bombing to get back Mekhata Camp. They have also strengthened their forces there.
  • Since 24 April, the 17th Conference of the KNU has been conducted. The KNU has been an EAO for more than 70 years.
  • In Nammatu Township of Shan North, Ta’ang monks and the Ta’ang Literature and Culture Association has been providing Ta’ang Language Training in Pan Thabyay Village.
  • CDF Asho released a statement in honor of the two-year anniversary of the founding of the Student Armed Force comprising mostly students and young people.
  • In Mobye on the border of Shan State and Karenni State, there was a battle on Wednesday morning. According to a member of Mobye PDF, 15 junta soldiers died, 2 others were caught alive and weapons were confiscated.
  • On Wednesday, Pekone PDF warned the public not to use Mobye-Pekone Road for security due to military affairs in the area.

The Military Council

  • On Tuesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that there would be well-deserved awards to those who win in the SEA Games.
  • On Tuesday morning, the junta leader inspected the construction site of Marawizaya Pagoda in Dakkhina Thiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
  • In the National Education Conference (2023), the second junta leader Soe Win claimed that they had allocated more budget for the education sector in their administration.
  • The junta Union Election Commission has approved of the registration of 5 political parties so far.
  • In China, the junta Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation discussed with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for the official export of frozen meat, in addition to farm products.
  • The junta Consumers’ Department announced that reports could be made in case of any loss in the purchase and the use of electric vehicles and their chargers.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Health at 8:00 pm Tuesday, there were 71 more cases of COVID-19 patients.
  • The military junta announced on Tuesday night that they had arrested the seven members of Khayan PDF in Yangon Region in the third week of April.
  • In Pyin Oo Lwin of Mandalay Region, the military junta arrested military officer Mg Mg Thwin and his group from the Science and Technology Research Force for selling weapons owned by the junta army.
  • According to the junta Motion Picture Association, artists will get invitation cards at the office in person from 26 to 28 April if they attend the Academy Award Ceremony.
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, local military officer ordered the responsible personnel of the industrial zone to send the personal information of workers from the factories and workshops.

Summary on 27 April

  • On the border of Shan and Karenni, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and the revolutionary forces. As the junta soldiers have had great losses there, they might turn their anger to the public. So, local people need to take special caution.
  • The junta army has conducted aerial bombings even on IDP camps and public hospitals. Judging from this, it is clearly visible that they have been using the most cruel ways to gain control.
