The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 10:00 am on 24 July, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG conducted Conflict Management Training for Township People’s Administrations in Mandalay Region.
  • At 10:00 am Tuesday, there was a meeting between the People’s Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and the People’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Regions.
  • At 1:00 pm Tuesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administration Teams from Yangon Region.
  • According to the Ministry of Defence - NUG, over 400 junta soldiers died and a large number of weapons were confiscated in local battles in No. (1) Military Region in June.
  • The Acting President of the NUG stated that it was necessary to systematically establish a financial system, which is not based on the Myanmar Kyat, to enlarge anti-junta activities for the protection of the public and not to cause the public’s to work for worthless currency.
  • According to Ministry of Defence- NUG, a troop of about 100 junta soldiers was attacked by revolutionary forces in Kanpetlet Township of Chin State. Reportedly, 20 of them died.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yardo Area on the border of Shan, Karenni and Kayin, a number of displaced people have been suffering from seasonal flu and they have been in need of healthcare.
  • In Kyungsu Township of Taninthayi Region, there was a surprise attack on the police station in Shawtawmaw Village at 6:45 pm Tuesday.
  • In Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region, there was a clash near Nanza Village on Monday night. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers including a captain died.
  • In Shwekyin Township, the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (589) has been blocking off the streets connecting local villages and opening inspection gates and demanding money.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of Shwe New Thwe with determination marched against the military dictatorship.
  • Sagaing Forum called on the public to collectively boycott the 20,000-MMK money notes which would soon be issued by the military junta.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army has been invading the area, firing mortars into villages. Consequently, 2 people were arrested and over 3000 others had to run away.
  • In Salingyi Township, Local People’s Administration ordered non-CDM staff to join the CDM by the end of July.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Chauk of Magwe Region, there was an attack on the junta police and soldiers on their way to a mine clearance operation. Reportedly, 2 junta members were injured.
  • In Yesagyo Township, there was an attack on a supporting troop sending weapons and rations for the junta army camp in Shinmataung. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers might have died.
  • On Wednesday, the focal person of the Rural Land provided corn to displaced children in Demoso Township of Karenni State.
  • A junta convoy of 9 vessels left Gawwun Jetty in Mandalay of Mandalay Region. Reportedly, local residents of the villages along the river banks have had to run away.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • In Naypyi Taw, the junta National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) met with some members of the Northern Alliance; United Wa State Party (UWSP), Shan State Progressive Party(SSPP) and National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA).
  • On the border of Shan and Karenni, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and Karenni Combined Forces in local villages along Pekone-Loikaw Road.

The Military Council

  • According to a survey conducted by Justice Movement for Community- Innlay (JMCI), 96% of the public in Innlay Area have had to face rude treatment from junta health staff who have a lack of qualifications, high costs of medical treatment and low-quality medicine.
  • According to the AP on Tuesday, the military junta has been making arrangements to transfer Daw Aung San Suu Kyi from imprisonment to house arrest.
  • The Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar put pressure on the military junta to combat swindling and online gambling based in Myanmar as they have caused losses for China.
  • On Tuesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by the Chief of Justice from Russia in Naypyi Taw.
  • On Tuesday, the junta Minister of Information met with responsible personnel from the China Rocket Company in Naypyi Taw. Reportedly, they discussed cooperation on satellite technology.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, 144,900 tons of chemical fertilizer worth 58.041 million USD were imported in June as there was a high demand for it in the rainy season to grow paddy.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, online shop owners will soon have to register their businesses and the fee may be around one lakh MMK depending on the type of business.
  • The junta Committee announced that there would be action against pre-order sales of electric vehicles.

  • After the military coup in Myanmar, the number of crimes has increased in the country. Under the protection of the junta armed forces, international criminal gangs have been committing crimes across the border. It has impacted not only southeast Asian nations but also China. Subsequently, China has put pressure on the military junta.
