The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The Acting President of the NUG claimed that despite his execution in 1976, Salai Tin Maung Oo had never died in terms of faith and stance, and he vividly showed his attitude for the public to break free from the military dictatorship.
  • On the 47th event in memory of Salai Tin Maung Oo, the Union Prime Minister of the NUG stated that there would be no authentic peace or self-determination without freedom or justice.
  • The Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) called for events in memory of Chin ethnic student leader Salai Tin Maung Oo, hanged on 26 June 1976, throughout the country.
  • At 10:00 am Sunday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Taninthayi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.
  • Naing Kaung Ywet, Deputy Minister of Defence- NUG, sent a message on the two-year anniversary of the founding of People’s Security Forces.
  • On 21 June, U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chair of the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), met with Ms. Henrietta Levin, Director of National Security Council of the US White House. Reportedly, they discussed Myanmar’s democracy.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, there was an anti-junta protest in memory of Salai Tin Maung Oo who was executed 47 years ago.
  • In the south of Monywa, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army stationed in the vehicle registration office.
  • In Minkin Township, local PDFs attacked with heavy artillery and drone the junta army and Pyusawti in Kyauk Khin Tad Village at about 12:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Minkin Township, there was an attack via drone on Pyusawti Camp in Kyaukketad Village. Reportedly, the weapon exploded on the house of junta soldiers, causing casualties.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta armed forces raided Kindaw Village and Myinsi Village on Sunday morning. Reportedly, they killed a total of 18 people including 13 PDF members and 2 women who got raped as well.
  • In Kawlin, there was a bomb explosion near KBZ Bank (2). Afterwards, the junta army indefinitely opened fire and some people got injured.
  • In Myaung Township, there was a bomb attack on a junta army birthday party. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • On Monday morning, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region, a combined force of PDFs conducted an attack via drone on Ngazun Myar Police Station. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and 10 others were injured.
  • In Thegone Township of Bago Region, a junta police officer and a retired police officer were shot by local PDFs. Reportedly, one of them died and the other one got injured.
  • In London of the UK, there was a birthday party for State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, detained in prison, on Sunday. Reportedly, present on the occasion were around 1,000 Myanmar people.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, the junta army shot mortars and conducted air attacks on Hnit Kayin Village on Sunday. Reportedly, a local woman aged 18 lost her life and so did a junta policeman. Besides, 4 people including a child got injured.
  • On behalf of the Japan-Myanmar Friendship Association, the focal person of Rural Land treated displaced children with rice and beef curry in Dimawso Township of Karenni State.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta armed forces set fire to 5 local villages. Reportedly, more than 100 houses were burnt down to ashes in Lepedaw Village.
  • In Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, Karenni people celebrated the 148th Karenni National Day.
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army set fire to Yange Village again.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kawkarait Township of Kayin State, there were attacks on the junta camps and stations. According to White Tiger Column, 8 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • Starting on Monday, 5 EAOs who signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement will meet with the military junta in Naypyi Taw.
  • In Monekoe of Shan State, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) awarded 20 lakh MMK to Than Htike Aung, a junta soldier who had defected to them. They also gave him the position of unit officer.

The Military Council

  • The military junta objected to a joint statement by the US President and the Prime Minister of India for the transformation of Myanmar into an all-inclusive federal democracy.
  • On Saturday, the military junta sent paddy seeds for the first time to Rakhine State so that the local farmers, victims of Cyclone Mocha, could grow rice in the rainy season in a timely manner.
  • On Friday, the junta Central Bank announced that it has been taking action against those who trade and transfer foreign currency illegally.
  • In Mawlamyein of Mon State, the 36th International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was on 26 June. Present on the occasion was the junta Chief Minister of Mon State.

Summary on 27 June

  • 5 EAOs will hold discussions with the military junta. However, they are not major organisations in their areas. In other words, there will be no outcome from their meeting and it will not be able to hinder the revolution gaining momentum.
  • The military junta failed to control the depreciation of Myanmar Kyat. Blaming business people for that, they have conducted arrests and inspections. Consequently, it might deteriorate and slow down the economy.
