The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 10:00 am Tuesday, there was a meeting between the People’s Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and the People’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.
  • At 1:00 pm Tuesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and the Township People’s Administration from Yangon Region.
  • On Monday, there was a meeting between the Committee on Women, Youth and Children under the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG. Reportedly, they discussed the matters to effectively help displaced people.
  • The CRPH released a statement in support of requests for the release of those lawlessly detained in Myanmar and the transformation of the country into an all-inclusive federal democracy, contained in Section (30) of the joint statement by the US and India.
  • The Union Minister of Home Affairs- NUG claimed that young people, who took to the streets in the beginning, had gained military experience due to the teaching of the alliance forces and that the current situation had reached a period of counterattacks according to the strategy of People’s War.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army set fire to Ngar Patchaung Village at about 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, nearly the whole village was burnt to ashes.
  • On the other side of Monywa, local PDFs conducted a surprise attack on the western inspection gate at about 7:00 am on Wednesday.
  • In Wetlet Township, there were attacks on the local police station and the junta army invading the area. Reportedly, 9 junta members including 5 policewomen died.
  • In the south of Kalay Township, there was heavy fighting near Thazi Village for the whole day. Reportedly, there might have ben casualties among 30 junta soldiers.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the S&C opened a free clinic for IDPs.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army set fire to Pinttha Village for the fifth time.
  • In the west of Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of Youth Strength and Salingyi-Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa, Hero Fighter (Salingyi) attacked with gunfire and shells on the junta’ 3 junta vessels traveling down the Chindwin River.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, a local revolutionary force attacked a junta army vehicle on patrol in Kalawgyi Village at 8:30 am on Wednesday.
  • In the north of Yay Township, 28 junta soldiers died in two days of fighting between Aungthaya Village and Kaninkamaw Village. Reportedly, the junta army used the support of the air force as they had suffered great losses.
  • In Karenni State, there has been intense military tension in the towns on the eastern bank of Thanlwin River including Mese. Reportedly, telecommunications have been cut there.
  • In Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army sent a letter on Monday saying houses built without permits on Nan Oo Lwin Village land would be removed.
  • In Pakkoku Township and Myaing Township of Magwe Region, there were attacks via mine and drone on the junta armed forces in accordance with the projects to control the areas. Reportedly, 9 junta soldiers died.
  • In cooperation with the public from Yelegyun Area, Yesagyo Township Strike Committee protested against the military dictatorship.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Phapun District under Karen National Brigade (5) in Kayin State, the junta army conducted an air strike on the compound of New Generation School. Reportedly, there damage was caused in the incident.
  • In Nyaunglebin District under the KNU, the junta army fired heavy artillery into local villages. Consequently, 2 local people lost their lives.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, a combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army and PDFs attacked the police station in Hnit Kayin Village. Reportedly, 9 junta members died.
  • Against the provisions contained in the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, some members of the PPST comprised of 10 EAOs reduced their membership level.

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry will reportedly arrange for the visit of celebrated bloggers from Russia and tourists.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, they reduced the amount and the times of financial support to social security of the elderly aged 85 and above in 2023-24 fiscal year.
  • The junta Directorate of Investment and Company Administration announced that they had removed about 1,000 companies for failing to submit their annual reports from the company registration list in May and June.
  • The junta Yangon Regional Investment Committee approved of seven foreign investments. They added that they would create over 4,000 job opportunities.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, they carried out most trade with China in April and May of the current fiscal year and the trade volume was worth up to 1.5 billion.
  • On Tuesday, there was the meeting with five EAOs who signed the Nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA), for the second day. The junta propaganda team announced that they had discussed the principles of federalism and humanitarian aid.

Summary on 29 June

  • In recent days, there have been more battles in Yay Township of Mon State and Taninthayi Region. The revolutionary forces have conducted frequent attacks and they have gained control of the roads.
  • The NUG stated that the counterattacks have started. Consequently, the fighting might become heavier.
