The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Defence- NUG released a statement welcoming the stance of the Karenni National People’s Liberation Front for fighting against the military junta.
  • The Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG announced that up to 1,175 bomb shelters had been prepared to protect from the danger of air attacks and heavy artillery of the junta army.
  • According to the Ministry of Defence- NUG, PDFs managed to take control of the junta army camps near Taung-In Village of Mawlight Township despite the junta’s air attacks.
  • In New York in the United States, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative U Kyaw Moe Tun met with the support teams of the Spring Revolution on Saturday.
  • In Timor which will reportedly become a new member of ASEAN, President Jose Ramos-Horta took an oath and invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs- NUG. Present on the occasion were the NUG Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and the representatives from Indonesia and Australia.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kyankhine Township of Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of the local strike committee led a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Yebyu Township of Taninthayi Region, 6 local residents of the Kanbauk Area had been arrested for taking part in the flower strike in commemoration of the birthday of the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Reportedly, they were released.
  • In Taninthayi Township, there has been intense military tension and battles may break out anytime. On 30 June, local PDFs announced a red alert and warned the public not to travel unless necessary.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region, a junta traffic policeman was shot dead on Saturday.
  • In Latbadan Township of Bago Region, the PDFs conducted simultaneous attacks on Ziphyugone Police Station and a gambling event. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers and Pyusawti members died.
  • In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces set fire to 4 villages in Nyaungbingyi Village Tract. Consequently, over 90 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces raided 2 local villages. They also beat a man aged 60 and shot him in the thigh.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In the downtown area of Sagaing, the People’s Army to Fight Dictatorship went into the junta immigration office and conducted an attack with powerful mines.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Busan of South Korea, Korean and Myanmar people expressed their desire against Myanmar’s military dictatorship on Sunday. Reportedly, Daegu Sayardaw joined their protest.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • Some photos went viral on social media, saying that they were the photos of the members of Karenni National Progressive Party losing their lives in the Phasaung Battle. In reality, they were the old photos of Mobye PDF members who lost their lives in local battles.
  • On Saturday, the military junta accused the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) of attacking a convoy of Chinese military representatives on their way for a meeting on border security. In response, the KIA claimed that it was not true.
  • To build Kaingnaya Operation Hospital needed in Karenni State, a campaign has been conducted.
  • The Northern Alliance of 3 EAOs released a joint statement, calling for the active cooperation of the public with the revolutionary forces fighting against the military junta which has been committing war crimes.
  • An unknown armed group shot dead 3 members of the Arakan Liberation Party led by Daw Saw Mya Yarzar Lin in association with the military junta. Reportedly, the dead included a commander of ALP/ALA, a Vice-Chair and a driver.

The Military Council

  • Under the command of a junta member Aung Lin Dway, the junta armed forces and departments removed over 100 residents of Mawlamyeingyun by force on 23 June, accusing them of being squatters.
  • On the morning of 30 June, a junta’s fighter jet was shot down near Ywathit Town in Karenni State. Reportedly, the two military pilots were still missing.
  • In Mandalay, two lifeless bodies were found with Thwe Thauk badges near Denko Gas Station on Saturday.
  • As a religious ritual, there will be a competition of reciting the Wheel of Dhama by heart in Naypyi Taw.
  • The anti-Corruption Commission of Myanmar and the Russian Attorney General’s Office signed an MOU on anti-corruption cooperation between the two countries.
  • According to the junta customs department, the MACCS fee has been reduced for the goods imported and exported via land borders, including products from the border.
  • The junta propaganda media claimed that 9 unexploded hand-made bombs were found at Mile Post 18/3 on the Yangon-Naypyi Taw Highway.
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Science and Technology claimed that they had opened nuclear engineering courses at technological universities.

Summary on 2 July

  • Currently in Myanmar, the people have been faced with frequent power outages and a high cost of living. At such a time of economic hardships, the junta leader claimed that the economy had been on the rise again. In other words, it is an open lie to the public.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that the KIA had attacked a convoy of Chinese representatives. In reality, the militias under the military junta were responsible for that. In other words, the junta team led by Zaw Min Tun is full of lies and they will never tell the truth to the public.
