The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Acting President Duwa Lashi La claimed that as the NUG was born out of the needs of the public, the public’s desire is their desire.
  • The Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than expressed thanks to local and international people who bought Spring Inya Condos as part of a fundraising program by the End of Dictatorship, that made over 6 million USD within 12 hours.
  • The Union Prime Minister stated that the common enemy has been trying various ways to defame the revolution and divide the revolutionary forces. He added that it is necessary to keep in touch with responsible personnel in the international community and share information in order not to get the wrong message across.
  • In a government meeting, the Acting President of the NUG told the international community that Myanmar people do not want to live under the military dictatorship even for a single day.
  • The Union Prime Minister of the NUG stated that the adoption of the tax system has started in the areas under their control.
  • The Acting President of the NUG pointed out that while the international community discusses solutions to Myanmar’s crisis, the junta army has been killing the public ruthlessly including the air attack with 168 fatalities.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Hlaing Thaya Township of Yangon Region, a junta hundred-household leader was shot dead.
  • According to ISP- Myanmar- a research organization, there was the record-breaking number of displaced people up to nearly 700,000 throughout the country in the first four months this year.
  • As a 780-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin from Sagaing Region marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Pale Township, local PDFs shelled the junta army and Pyusawti Militia stationed in Zeephyugone Village on Tuesday morning.
  • In the east and the south of Kantbalu Township, the junta armed forces invaded the area, conducted airstrikes and burnt over 100 buildings including schools and houses.
  • In Ye-U Township, more than 5,000 people from over 20 local villages have had to run away as the junta armed forces have been invading.
  • In Khin-U Township, the displaced people have been badly in need of food and water.
  • In Mupan District of Shan State, the junta army conducted an air attack on Hwaytone Village. Reportedly, a person died and 10 others got injured.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, local villages have run out of rations as there has been strict inspection at the junta gates.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, local PDFs warned local people to stay away from the junta armed forces, the junta departments and the junta staff.
  • There were four battles in Kanyutgwin and on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway. Reportedly, 12 junta soldiers died whereas the PDF lost 3 members.
  • In Nyaunglebin Township of Bago Region, PDFs blew up Yegyichaung Bridge on the way to the junta army Shwekyin Strategic Camp.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • On their 66th anniversary, the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) pledged that they would keep fighting the defensive war until the downfall of the military dictatorship, the liberation of Karenni people and the establishment of federalism.
  • In Hakha Township in Chin State, the junta army had great losses in fighting on Monday.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State and the west of Pekone, the junta armed forces have been firing heavy artillery.
  • In the Kawthoolei Administrative Areas under the Karen National Union (KNU), the junta army committed 628 war crimes and human rights violations within three months.
  • In Mindat Township of Chin State, the junta army conducted 19 airstrikes in April, killing 3 local people and leaving 9 others injured.
  • In Karenni State, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and the revolutionary forces since the last week of February. According to the PKPF, 112 junta soldiers died in April.
  • For the victims of the junta aerial bombing in Karenni State, Vitamins for Spring Revolution has been conducting a raffle sale to buy a drone.
  • In Mutraw District under the KNU Brigade (5), 138 junta soldiers defected to the KNLA within two years.

The Military Council

  • The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom included Myanmar on the list of countries violating religious freedom severely as the military junta has been oppressing religious minorities.
  • The Foreign Minister of China will reportedly arrive at Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
  • Prior to his trip to Myanmar, the Foreign Minister of China met with Noeleen Heyzer, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Myanmar, on Monday.
  • The junta Yangon Regional Government instructed YBS buses to transport the monks and people for the rehearsal of a religious ritual at Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
  • According to the junta Consulate in Hong Kong, Myanmar people may find it difficult to go to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and work there for a long time.

  • Since the coup, the military junta has been oppressing religious minorities and abusing Buddhism as a political weapon. In reality, they have been killing monks while burning and destroying monasteries and pagodas.
