The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a government meeting on Tuesday, the Acting President of the NUG stated that only when the revolutionary forces can perform strategically in all aspects of the war, they will be able to create a federal democratic union with full access to democracy and human rights for the public.
  • On Tuesday, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) strongly condemned the military junta for forcing the Chargé d'affaires of East Timor to leave Myanmar.
  • The NUG has called for making a contribution equivalent to $20 USD every month to PRF 2.0 in order to equip the PDFs fighting for a people’s defensive war all over the country.
  • The Financial Director General of the Ministry of Defence- NUG called on the public to take part in the new support program as the urban guerrillas are now in a position to fight behind-the-frontline camps of the junta army.
  • In the biweekly report to the public about the revolution, the Deputy Secretary of the NUG claimed that the military junta has suffered great losses in all battles throughout the country and the PDFs will soon be able to raise their flag in Naypyi Taw.
  • The Ministry of Human Rights- NUG informed the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar about the war crimes of the junta army in which the junta soldiers had raped and killed a pregnant woman and inserted a bottle of Royalty soft drink into her female organ, and in which they had ruthlessly killed three men in Wetlet Township in Sagaing Region.
  • According to the Ministry of Defence- NUG, PDFs managed to confiscate the belongings of the junta army officer Brig-Gen Myat Min Moe on his transfer from Loikaw to Tanaing in Htigyaint Township of Sagaing Region on 9 August.
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and Township People’s Administration Teams from Sagaing Region, Magwe Region and Mandalay Region.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of Shwe Nwe Thwe led an anti-junta march on Tuesday.
  • In Khin-U Township, local farmers protested against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Yinmabin Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta armed forces on Monday evening.
  • In Minkin Township, there was an attack on the Pyusawti camp in Kangyay Village on Monday morning. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers might have died and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Tamu Township, there was a battle between the National Liberation Army (NLA) and the junta armed forces on Monday morning. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, a rally conducted an anti-junta public talk in a village on Monday.
  • In Kantbalu Township, there were attacks on 5 villages where the junta army and Pyusawti had been stationed on 26 August. Reportedly, 10 junta members died.
  • In Indaw Township, there were battles between the junta army and the ABSDF in Mawtait on Sunday and Monday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died whereas a member of the ABSDF lost their life.
  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, an unexploded hand-made bomb was found on the lawn at the crossroads in Ward (13) on Monday night.
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, there was an attack on a junta troop near Anauk Gantgaw Village on Sunday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myaing Township, there was an attack using over 30 mortars on Kaingdawma Police Station at 5:30 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta members died whereas a PDF member lost their life.
  • In Pakkoku Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta Inbin Gate on Monday afternoon. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army has arrested 10 civilians as human shields since 26 August. Consequently, more than 20,000 local people have had to run away.
  • In Paung Township of Mon State, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army stationed in the Township Administration Staff Housing on Sunday evening. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers including officers got injured.
  • In Yay Township, the Mon-Taninthayi-based revolutionary forces conducted bomb attacks via drone on the junta armed forces Regiment (19) and (61) on Monday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • In Thanglang Township of Chin State, 28 junta soldiers died and 5 weapons including RPGs were confiscated in Tadgone Battle on Monday.
  • In Muse Township of Northern Shan State, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army near Homone Village on Monday. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In KyarIn Seikgyi Township under Karen National Union in Kayin State, the junta army ill-treated two local people from Wawlu Village on 22 August. They also threatened that they would kill them if they told it to others.
  • In Kawkarait Township, Captain Ye Min Tun in plain clothes was arrested in the area under the control of White Tiger Column on Monday.

The Military Council

  • The junta’s Myanmar Oil Federation announced that a committee had been set up for easy access to edible oil in the market with affordable prices.
  • The military junta and the Myanmar Rice Federation conducted a meeting and put pressure on rice dealers to sell rice at fixed prices and reduce their prices.
  • The junta Embassy in South Korea announced that it would suspend passport extensions for Myanmar people there since 1 September.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, China-Myanmar border trade earned nearly 600 million USD in the current fiscal year more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the export of forestry products was over 27 million USD in the four months of the current fiscal year and it decreased compared with the same period last year.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, over 63,000 tons of various beans were exported from 1 April to 18 August.
  • The junta Minister of Hotel and Tourism told tour companies to attract more Chinese tourists. She added that the ministry would provide the necessary support.

Summary on 30 August

  • To control the prices of basic food items, the military junta has set up committees and put pressure on dealers. However, they still cannot control the high cost of living and the public has had to face general hardships on a daily basis.
  • The NUG has called for support for the revolutionary forces fighting the People’s Defensive War. They might be preparing for big military operations.
