The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Dr. Zaw Wai Soe and U Lwin Ko Latt, Union Ministers of the NUG, will tell what the public would like to know as much as they can they say.
  • At 7:00 pm on 12 August, there will be a fund-raising event for the Ministry of Immigration-NUG as well as an art performance.
  • In his speech, Acting President of the NUG said that as long as the military junta and Min Aung Hlaing exist, they would continue to violate human rights and it was not possible to build a peaceful and prosperous nation in accordance with democracy standards.
  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public have been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. Reportedly, 53 members of the junta armed forces died and 63 others were injured on Thursday.
  • Union Prime Minister of the NUG said that due to the deteriorating activities of the junta army, the public were seething with anger and that the military junta has been walking on the path of violence with no return.
  • According to the ABC, the NUG will open their representative office in Canberra, Australia. Reportedly, it will be just a mile away from the junta embassy.

Revolution Activities

  • In Sanchaung Township of Yangon Region, one of the young men who had been arrested by the junta army tried to run away from the military truck on Baho Road. Reportedly, he was shot by junta soldiers in the chase.
  • According to Bawlake PDF on Friday, a captain from the junta navy ship yard in Thanlyin Township joined them.
  • In the downtown area of Yangon, many extremist monks, old soldiers and nationalists joined the movement in support of the junta’s recent executions in front of the City Hall and Maha Bandula Park.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, youth expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Friday by hanging a banner - ‘Get out of military slavery by killing the military captain’.
  • Reportedly, Mg Aung Chan Myay, a young man aged 19 who had been sentenced to death for the murder of a junta administrator in Shwepyitha Township, has had his charge changed to life imprisonment.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Kani Township, the junta armed forces killed 12 people near Zeebindwin Village, 11 others near Taungpauk Village and another one in town. On Friday morning, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in memory of the victims of the mass murder.
  • In Myinmu Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army inspecting passersby in front of Nyaungbinwun Police Station at about 4:00 pm Thursday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and 3 others were injured.
  • In Kalay, a man who had helped raise funds for the IDPs was arrested by the military junta. Due to the information through him, many others were caught as well.
  • According to Myaung Township PDF, they have been collecting mines to cut off the logistics of the junta army along the Monywa-Mandalay Road.
  • In Mae Sot of Thailand, Myanmar people protested against the military junta on Friday.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, a rally of Lonekhine Group marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Pakkoku Township of Magwe Region, PDFs attacked the junta army in Bonekan Village at about 5:00 pm Thursday. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers died.
  • Reportedly, G7 Foreign Ministers and high-ranking representatives from the European Union condemned the junta’s execution of democracy activists in Myanmar.
  • In Phyapone Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, 5 members of the junta police were seriously injured in the mine attacks at the junta army inspection gate and the junta administration guesthouse.
  • In Pathein Township, members of the junta armed forces have been seeking to track down young people with anti-junta posts on their social media.
  • On Thursday, political prisoners in Pathein Prison released a statement regarding the junta’s execution of U Jimmy, U Phyo Zayar Thaw, U Hla Myo Aung and U Aung Thura Zaw.
  • In Yay of Mon State, local PDF attacked the local police station at about 3:00 pm Thursday. Reportedly, 4 members of the junta police died and 4 others were injured.
  • Reportedly, Germany condemned the junta’s execution of four political prisoners and sent for the senior officer from the Myanmar Embassy there.
  • On Friday morning, Ko Mg Mg Myo, a freelance journalist of Mekong News, was sentenced to 6 years in prison on the charge of Section 52 (a) under the anti-terrorist law at Pha-Ang Township Court.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kayin State, a combined force of KNLA conducted a mine attack on a military convoy traveling between Thandaunggyi and Paleki Village at 9:30 am Thursday. Reportedly, 2 military trucks were damaged and no less than 10 junta soldiers died.
  • Pao National Federal Council-PNFC condemned the junta’s inhumane execution of four political prisoners.
  • Sumdu Mai Li Bawk, wife of the spokesperson of Kachin Independence Organization, passed away on Thursday night.

The Military Council

  • The junta announced that they had not made any change in the curfew of Yangon Region.
  • According to local people, the Winemaw-based junta army (Unit 58) wildly shot no less than 10 mortars rounds on locations where they thought there could be KIA members.
  • According to the junta the Committee against Illegal Trade, final rewards would be given to those who report about such trade in states and regions of the country. They also issued contact numbers to them.
  • The junta propaganda media claimed that armed groups had set fire to the middle school in Letpangone Village in Pantanaw Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region at about 9:00 am Wednesday.
  • The second junta leader called for priority on natural disaster risk management.

Summary on 29 July

  • In Gantgaw Area, a USDP MP, who has been training Pyusawti members to commit violence, led a rally supporting the junta’s executions. Under protection of the junta army, they organized such a privileged gathering. The public however view these people as the dregs of society.
  • In big cities, young members of underground forces were arrested. However, there were still anti-junta protests and revolution activities.
  • In Chin, Kachin, Kayin, Karenni, Sagaing and Magwe, there were battles between the junta armed forces and local defence forces. As for Shan State, they had military tension.
