The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Union Prime Minister claimed that the junta army has been disorganized in various ways and has had to use old men as soldiers.
  • Regarding the case in which three local residents of Mizoram State were murdered in India, the NUG supported the efforts of local authorities and judiciary personnel to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
  • At 4:00 pm on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Labor Committee under the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and responsible personnel from the NUG Ministry of Economics and Commerce.
  • At 1:00 pm on Wednesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administrative Teams from Mandalay Region and Magway Region.
  • On Thursday, the NUG Union Prime Minister gave junta soldiers and police a last warning, telling them to join the revolution as the door of the People’s Embrace is about to close.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The junta Union Election Commission announced that it had abolished 40 political parties including the National League for Democracy (NLD). The United States, the UK, Japan and Australia expressed their condemnation.
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, a troop from the junta army Regiment (99) was shot at by snipers on its way back from a pro-military rally. Reportedly, a junta member died.
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magway Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationed in the compound of Kapgyaw Monastery on Wednesday afternoon. Reportedly, a military officer died and another one was seriously injured.
  • In a statement on Wednesday, the Building and Wood Federation of Myanmar announced that it has completed all the necessary preparations to send the military junta to international courts.
  • In Tanintharyi Region, two students of Dawei Technology University were sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday.
  • On Wednesday, the SSRY No. (1008) announced that it is badly in need of food supplies for the forces fighting on the border of Pinlaung Township and Pekone Township in Shan South.
  • In Pinlaung Township, an alliance of revolutionary forces attacked the junta armed forces stationing in Lonepyin Village and Taungmethin Mountain. Reportedly, there were many casualties among junta soldiers. Consequently, the junta army conducted no less than 20 airstrikes with fighter jets. Reportedly, the alliance lost a comrade and two others were injured.
  • In South Okkalapa Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion at the junta police station on Thursday afternoon.
  • In Mon State, six junta soldiers died in fighting at Beelin Alule. Afterwards, the junta army shot dead a woman and set fire to the historical pagoda hill.
  • In Magway Region, the Myaing Township General Strike marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Myaing Township, a combined rally of the Basic Education Strike Committee and local people marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Thursday, raising banners for unity.
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yin Mar Bin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • On Thursday, the Taze General Strike marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Salin Township in Magway Region, there was fighting against the junta army. Afterwards, the junta soldiers set fire to Kinpunchone Village with over 100 houses. Reportedly, the whole village was burnt to ashes.
  • In Wetlet Township, over 1,200 people from Thamaryoe Village, which was burnt down by the junta armed forces, have been in need of food.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Thantlang Township in Chin State, the junta army conducted bombed Kwapho Village. Reportedly, no less than eight civilians, including women, were killed and many others were injured.
  • In Myeik District in Tanintharyi Region, there was heavy fighting between an alliance of revolutionary forces and junta armed forces on the Tanintharyi-Mawtaung Road for two consecutive days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Military Council

  • In Nay Pyi Taw, there was a two-day meeting between the seven ethnic armed organisations (EAOs) that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) and the junta peace committee. Reportedly, they discussed where to hold all-inclusive peace talks.
  • The junta Ministry of Information issued permits to 23 applicants for journals, magazines as well as issuing three individuals permits for news agencies.

Summary on 31 March

  • The NUG gave a final warning to the junta police and soldiers to join the CDM. They also questioned them as to whether they would choose to die for Min Aung Hlaing, go to international courts or defect to the public. Consequently, the revolution might soon have greater momentum and there might also be international sanctions.
  • The junta armed forces keep committing war crimes through constant air attacks killing civilians. For such crimes, the responsible perpetrators, from officers to grassroots-level soldiers, will have to suffer one day.
