The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Human Rights and Ministry of Education-NUG expressed their strong condemnation of the bad idea of the military junta to take political advantage of children by reopening schools to show they rule the country.
  • At the United Nations Security Council, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, delivered a speech that the rule of law and judiciary system in Myanmar had collapsed since the military coup on 1 February 2021.
  • At the United Nations Security Council, Myanmar Ambassador said that the illegitimate military coup was a violation of the law and was a betrayal by the military dictators to remove the democratically-elected poeple’s government.
  • The NUG announced that they had been providing interim education through online and on the ground schools including home-based learning. They also urged those with access to such services to keep protesting against the fake schooling of the military junta.
  • Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said that effective action by the United Nations Security Council would be able to save Myanmar from terrible crimes.
  • There was a meeting between the Interim Chin National Consultative Council and the team led by the Minister of Communication, Information and Technology-NUG. Reportedly, they discussed action plans for their cooperation related to communication, information and the media sector of Chin State in the interim.
  • Daw Ei Thinza Maung, Deputy Minister of the NUG, called for contributions to the 7,000-Bullet Project to support PDF members who have been fighting against the junta armed forces on the ground in the People’s Defensive War.
  • Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment-NUG expressed their condemnation of a business event with traders from Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand, which had been held at LOTTE Hotel built on land owned by the junta army.
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting between public administration teams from the special administrative areas and the Department of Public Administration under Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG.

Revolution Activities

  • In Magwe Region, a convoy of 60 military trucks, including armoured vehicles, was attacked twice by Yaw Defence Force on the way to Gantgaw on Thursday. Reportedly, more than 30 junta soldiers, including an officer, died.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of Shwe Oatkan marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kani Township, the junta armed forces set fire to Kin Village on 26 and 27 May. Reportedly, 210 houses were burnt to ashes and over 1,000 people became homeless. According to local sources, these people have had difficulty meeting their daily basic needs.
  • As a 449-day protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • On Friday, ACID Army PDF (MMU) released a video saying that they managed to produce high-quality and safe pistols for battles due to the support of the public.
  • On Thursday, a PDF in Yinmabin Township announced that there had been an attack with mortars on a local police station. Reportedly, no less than 4 mortar shells fell and exploded there, leaving 3 members of the junta armed forces injured.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Friday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yangon, a combined rally marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Friday morning.
  • In Laukai of Shan North, junta police members beat and kicked 8 young people in a hotel compound.
  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, a combined force of two guerrillas conducted an explosion on the Seinban Myaing traffic police office at 9:17 pm Thursday.
  • In Shwepyitha Township, local PDF shot dead a hundred-household leader in Ward (10).

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Karenni State, a convoy of 40 military trucks was attacked by Karenni combined forces. According to the KNDF, military items and weapons, including 2 military trucks, were confiscated.
  • In Taungoo District under KNU Brigade (2), KNU warned the military junta to stop their interference in administrative and departmental activities in the place. They also announced that KNU would fully carry out local administration.
  • In Loikaw Township of Karenni State, a contingent of 100 junta soldiers was attacked by the Karenni Army and the Karenni National Defence Force on Thursday. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and many others were injured. As for the combined force, they had no loss.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun, the death penalty was approved for Ko Phyo Zayar Thaw and Ko Jimmy as well as the accused in the Hlaingthaya murder; Hla Myo Aung and Aung Thura Zaw.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that he had left instructions for supervision related to over extraction of forest resources, illegal logging and mobile farming due to the fact that forest-covered areas in the country have decreased year after year, alongside too much deforestation.
  • Joox Myanmar Music, a company in cooperation with the daughter of the junta leader, announced that they would leave the country.
  • The junta Ministry of Transportation and Communication informed the organizations with logistics services about the permitted amount for their foreign currency reserves.
  • The junta propaganda leader said that ASEAN Special Envoy would not be allowed to meet with those under trial during his trip to Myanmar.
  • On Thursday evening, the junta army confiscated motorbikes in Aungmingala bus terminal of North Okkalapa Township, aiming at the riders with guns. They then demanded 70,000 MMK to take back each of them.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Education, just over 50 teachers among 2,000 CDM ones, who had made pleas to them, were inspected and reappointed.
  • On Thursday, the junta army with white flags donated basic food items to the IDP camps in San Village on the border of Magwe Region and Chin State.
  • The junta Shan State Government announced that all of the non-CDM staff must go to work, wearing their uniform, starting from 6 June.

Summary on 3 June

  • Even in urban areas like Yangon, the junta armed forces have been misusing the law to rob the public of belongings and demand money to get back those things. They have been licensed robbers since the military coup.
  • In Karenni State, the junta army faced a great loss and a lot of their weapons, including military trucks, were confiscated by local defence forces. The junta leaders will make use of their grassroots level soldiers as long as there is no threat to their security.
