The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On Friday, Ministry of Labour-NUG announced that they had launched the Labour Law Portal so that the public could learn the provisions contained in labour laws. 
  • According to The End of Dictatorship under the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment-NUG, they have set the price of 7 million USD for the property confiscated by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing at 6.5 Miles City and they would sell 70,000 shares with the price of 100 USD per share. 
  • Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that they would raise funds via "Project Skywalk" to strengthen drone forces causing a great loss for the junta armed forces on the ground. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In North Dagon Township of Yangon Region, Urban Guerrillas conducted explosions in front of the electricity department and the junta gate in Ward 37 at 11:10 pm Thursday. 
  • On the Thai-Myanmar border, IDPs from Okkayitta Village cannot return home yet and they are suffering from a lack of shelter and food. 
  • In Muse of Shan North, the military junta arrested 2 CDM members of healthcare staff on Thursday. 
  • To protest against the junta’s executions, some political prisoners in Mandalay Obo Prison have been on hunger strike. 
  • In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, a car with 8 junta soldiers was attacked with mines by local PDF at 12:10 pm Friday. Reportedly, two of them died. 
  • In Kani Township, a rally of villagers marched against the military dictatorship on Friday, holding signs for the good health of Mother Suu. 
  • In the south of Kalay Township, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta army invading the area on Wednesday and Thursday. Reportedly, junta soldiers set fire to Thayagone Village causing great loss. 
  • In Kalay Township, there were heavy battles in Thayagone Village for 4 days. On Thursday alone, 15 junta soldiers died whereas the local PDF lost 3 members. 
  • In Dawei of Taninthayi Region, the junta army arrested U Soe Myint in Bonemaw Ward at about 10:00 pm Thursday and discarded his dead body on the roadside within 24 hours. 
  • In Yebyu Township, Mg Noe Noe La Pyae aged 11 passed away on Thursday as he did not get medical treatment after being injured while running away from the fighting. 
  • In Yangon, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Friday. 
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, the junta army set fire to Kyauksauk Village on Friday for the second time. 
  • GMSR-Global Myanmar Spring Revolution and General Strike Coordination Body will jointly organize a photo campaign for justice for political prisoners and the end of unlawful killing in prison. 
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, the father of a alleged junta informer was killed in Ward (4) at about 4:00 am Friday. 
  • In Myanaung Township, 5 junta members of Thabyegone Police Station tied U Thein Aung aged over 50 with rope with his hands at his back and dragged him using a motorbike. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • In Kalay Township of Sagaing Region, a military convoy was attacked with variety mines. According to CDF – Ton Zang on Thursday, 50 junta soldiers died and no less than 10 others were injured. 
  • On Thursday, the Township Public’s Administration called for contributions to the procurement of 3 rifles for the CDF – Kanpetlet. 

The Military Council 

  • U Htin Kyaw, the secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission, was allowed to resign due to his health condition. 
  • The military junta announced that they arrested those who had murdered Win Naing Tun, the administrator of Shwe Nanttha Village, and his wife in Mingaladone Township. 
  • In Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw, a dam would be constructed in Kutoseik Village to irrigate 156 acres of farmland. 
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the parliament was the highest political position in democracy and it was necessary for ethnic people to get more seats on such a political stage to claim the rights of their local areas. 
  • After the junta army killed two students in Paletwa, the junta propaganda announced that PDF had done so. 
  • The junta leader said that the junta army would continue to maintain the country. 
  • In Nay Pyi Taw, a car collided with a police car on Thursday evening. Reportedly, the police car overturned and two policemen as well as a detainee were injured. 
  • In Titain of Chin State, the military junta arrested the owner of jungle boots shop as well as the driver, bus conductor and the terminal supervisor for transporting his goods. 

Summary on 5 August 

  • With the incentive of privileges, the junta has been persuading ethnic armed organizations. In fact, those rights are not real ones which tend to be given at the time of their great loss. When they get a chance, they will continue oppression again. 
  • The junta leader said again that the junta army had been safeguarding the country. Under such circumstances, the country has been in terrible condition. 
  • At the time of powerful revolution, the common incident is that PDFs have had to retreat in battles as they have run out of bullets while fighting. So, it is necessary for the public to contribute to PDFs in one way or another amidst various hardships.
