The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 1:00 pm Tuesday, there was a meeting between the Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and members of the Special Investigation Department from Bago Region.
  • The Special Operation Force announced that it had conducted attacks via drone and shells on the junta armed forces in Kyar-In Seikgyi Township of Kayin State, killing a junta captain and another junta soldier.
  • There was a meeting via video conferencing between some members of the British Parliament and the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH).

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Natoegyi Township of Mandalay Region, U Maung Htay, the local Chair of the Union Solidarity and Development Party and the junta administrator of the village tract, was shot dead.
  • In Myeik Township and Boatpyin Township of Taninthayi Region, local PDFs attacked the junta troops and vehicles on patrol. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.
  • Somewhere on the Yebyu-Kalaingaung Road, a junta police sergeant in a passenger express was caught by local PDFs. Reportedly, he died when he was shot as he tried to grab a gun and run away.
  • In Myeik Township and Taninthayi Township, there were attacks with a variety of weapons on the junta armed forces. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, a junta administrator and a Pyusawti member were shot dead.
  • In Boatpyin Township, there was an attack on a junta troop on patrol. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died and 3 weapons were confiscated.
  • In Paungty Township of Bago Region, a combined force of local PDFs conducted three attacks on the junta army on Monday alone. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and 5 others were seriously injured.
  • To upgrade their missions in Mandalay, the No More Dictatorship People’s Defence Force called for participation in a raffle campaign.
  • In Phaungbyin Township of Sagaing Region, around 30 junta soldiers including an officer died and got injured in a battle near Kawkan Village. After, the junta army carried out attacks via fighter jets and military helicopters.
  • In Kani Township, there was a bomb attack via drones on Alegyun Pyusawti Camp. Reportedly, 2 junta members were injured.
  • On Wednesday morning, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yangon, the Urban Guerrillas announced that they had carried out attacks with 12 bombs on 2 junta army camps, 3 junta departments and a junta inspection camp on Tuesday night.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • On the 74th anniversary of Karen Kawthoolei Army Day, the Chair of the Karen National Union (KNU) sent a statement.
  • In Chin State, CDF Tonzang issued arrest warrants for junta administration personnel and education officers starting on Wednesday.
  • The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) announced that nearly 50 junta soldiers had died in local battles on the border of Shan and Karenni states in June.
  • The Arakan Army (AA) called on the military junta to re-allow humanitarian assistance by international organizations and NGOs after Cyclone Mocha.
  • In Loikaw Township and Dimawso Township of Karenni State, the Karenni National Women’s Organization gave seeds to local villages and some IDP camps to grow vegetables in the rainy season.
  • In a KNU area, the 74th Karen Liberation Day was celebrated on Wednesday morning.

The Military Council

  • According to Western News, the junta Kyauktan Inspection Gate did not let a rescue team go from Sittway to Ponnagyun on Wednesday morning to help the victims of the Cyclone Mocha.
  • On Wednesday, the military junta announced that Lieutenant General Nyo Saw had been appointed as the advisor to the junta Chair.
  • In Kyaukphyu of Rakhine State, junta personnel inspected the administration of COVID-19 vaccinations to students at local basic education schools and monastic schools.
  • On Tuesday, a delegation of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs met with the junta Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement at the ministry hall.

Summary on 6 July

  • The military junta has put restrictions in the storm-hit areas so emergency assistance is not reaching the needy. Subsequently, UN organizations had to call on the military junta so that they could help the public. In reality, the military junta has just been doing some rescue activities superficially and they have been openly violating human rights.
  • There have been heavy battles in the upcountry region, Mon State and Taninthayi Region. Reportedly, the fighting got heavier in Taninthayi.
