The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The President of East Timor invited the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs- NUG to the inauguration ceremony of their new government. They also made another invitation to the NUG for a meeting between the two governments.
  • At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and the Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting via video conferencing between the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and some MPs of the UK Parliament; the Hon. Mr. Raymond Edward Harry Collins (Lord Collins of Highbury) and the Hon. Ms. Catherine West.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The United Nations announced that they would conduct a hearing of Myanmar women, human rights activists and the victims of sexual violence in the upcoming meeting of the Security Council. They added that they would review their decisions and take necessary action.
  • On Tuesday, a combination of Shan South Local Defence Forces completed their drone training Batch (1).
  • In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on a vessel carrying junta soldiers who had fled the battle in Kangyigone Village.
  • In Salingyi Township, there was an attack on a junta vessel in the Ayeyarwaddy River. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • On Thursday, a rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army opened fire and raided Thamayo Village at 4:00 am Thursday. Consequently, 3 local men and 4 women lost their lives.
  • In Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region, 3 junta soldiers got injured in a mine explosion during their mine clearance operation.
  • In Kyauktagar Township of Bago Region, the junta armed forces stationed in town have fired mortars at local villages. Reportedly, some houses were damaged along with casualties among the civilians.
  • In Oatpho Township, U Myint Oo, allegedly a Pyusawti member and hundred-household leader of Kaingkalay Village, was shot dead by a local PDF at 6:25 am on Thursday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, there were anti-junta public talks at two local markets on Thursday morning.
  • In Longlone Township, the Dawei Democratic Movement Committee conducted a public talk against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • At a public school in Mandalay Region, a combination of Kyaukse Students’ Unions conducted a talk prior to 7 July.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • The junta army invaded Laiza, the headquarters of Kachin Independence Army. The KIA announced that there could be fighting at anytime and the public should be cautious.
  • Major Seng Lyan Tan from the Chin National Front passed away due to stomach disease at Trinity Hospital in Mizoram State of India at 8:30 pm Wednesday.
  • The new Chair of the Karen National Union claimed that they would join hands with every national and organization fighting against the military dictatorship.
  • In Shataw Township of Karenni State, junta soldiers left the two camps on the eastern bank of Thanlwin River. According to Karenni Army, they attacked a supporting troop of the junta army from Shan State, killing 6 junta soldiers.
  • In Bawlake Township, Karenni Forces managed to shoot down a junta fighter jet and took photos of the scene via drone. Those photos were released by the Karenni National People’s Liberation Front.
  • On Wednesday, the 6 EAOs who signed the ceasefire expressed their support for the effort of the Chair of the Nippon Foundation for Myanmar’s peace and humanitarian assistance.

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs objected to the invitation of East Timor to the NUG to the inauguration ceremony of the government.
  • In a report on 3 July, the United Nations Human Rights Commission Office mentioned that the ban on humanitarian assistance to Rakhine State and Paletwa in Chin State was a war crime.
  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting in Seoul for cooperation on trade and investment between Myanmar and Korea.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that there was a meeting for friendship between Myanmar and Kuwait.
  • The junta Trade Department announced that they would apply both LC and TT systems in the export of Myanmar’s goldware. They added that the import and the export of gold must be done in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Summary on 7 July

  • The United Nations officially stated that Min Aung Hlaing had been committing war crimes. The junta army led by the junta leader must be held accountable for their action.
  • In Karenni State, the junta armed forces were disorganized and suffered great losses. The soldiers even had to run away and they suffered casualties in the attacks by revolutionary forces.
