The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement to the 49th anniversary of the Labor Strike Movement Day.
  • At 10:00 am Monday, there was a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and Township People’s Administration Teams from Sagaing Region, Magwe Region and Mandalay Region.
  • At 3:00 pm Monday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.
  • In commemoration of World Environmental Conservation Day, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation- NUG conducted a talk, planted trees and picked up trash.
  • On Sunday, the Rule of Law and Justice Department under the Ministry of Judiciary Affairs- NUG stated that 129 civilians including 19 children lost their lives in states and regions due to the junta armed forces in May.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On their 810th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin in Sagaing Region marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Chaung-U Township, there was an attack on a compound of the Northwest Military Headquarters on the Monywa-Mandalay Road. Reportedly, a junta policeman died.
  • Somewhere in Sagaing Region, Danger Force LPDF celebrated their one-year anniversary.
  • On Tuesday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • The junta army shot mortars into Kalay and Latpanchaung Village. Reportedly, 6 people including a child aged 7 got injured.
  • On the Monywa-ChaungU Road, there was an attack with a variety of mines on 2 junta army trucks.
  • In Taungtha Township of Mandalay Region, Hla Moe, a former soldier collecting information about local PDFs, was shot dead on Sunday.
  • In Bago Region, the BPDF Yoma blew up two bridges on the way to the junta pillars.
  • In Daegu of South Korea, anti-junta people got together and protested against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Myaing Township and Pauk Township of Magwe Region, local PDFs attacked a camp of Pyusawti and one of their cars. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Mabai Township of Shan State, there has been fighting with the junta’s aerial bombing.
  • Moenyin Township Students’ Union conducted an event in memory of Ko Hein Min Htet who died last year, hanging an anti-junta banner saying ‘There is nothing else to lose except the bond’.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the military news on the two-year anniversary of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force, Loikaw is the only place under the administration of the military junta in Karenni State and the remaining areas are under control of the revolutionary forces.
  • In Mobye on the Shan-Kayar border, a large number of the junta armed forces have been invading the area. Reportedly, they had a battle against a combined force of Mobye PDF, the KNDF and the URF all of Monday.
  • According to the Chin National Front, the Kachin Independence Organization gave 2,000 lakh MMK for the rehabilitation of victims of Cyclone Mocha in Chin State.
  • In Kyaukgyi Township under Karen National Union Brigade (3), there has been heavy fighting in Natthangwin since Tuesday morning.
  • In Chin State, there have been heavy battles as the junta armed forces have been invading Thanglang Township from Hakha Township. In a local battle on Monday, 5 junta soldiers died whereas the local CDF lost a member and another one was injured.
  • In Monekoe District in the Special Region (1) of Shan State, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army sentenced a criminal gang in Pansai to 10 years in prison on Monday.

The Military Council

  • In the news of Nikkei Asia on Monday, it was suspiciously found out that Russia has been buying back the weapons which they sold to Myanmar and India.
  • The junta Minister of Information confessed that they failed in an attempt to spread news on social media, which has been banned since the military coup.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that they had arrested Ko Kaung Zarni Hein and Ko Kyaw Thura, allegedly the assassins of nationalist Li Li Naing Kyaw, at a hostel in Kamayut Township on Sunday morning.
  • To combat plastic pollution, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing called for sustainable plans for the 3Rs; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Summary on 7 June

  • After U Lwin Ko Latt, a Union Minister of the NUG, arrived at a frontline battlefield in Bago, there have been more attacks by the PDFs and the EAOs. On the other hand, the junta army has conducted more attacks with fighter jets and heavy artillery.
  • According to the EAOs and the PDFs, the military junta has had fewer areas under their influence in recent months.
