The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the NUG Ministry of Education, Myanmar’s Spring Online University was opened on 7 October for students who do not want to join the junta’s schooling.
  • In the speech to PDFs, the NUG Minister of Defence stated that there were three military regions and those regional chiefs were the top military personnel from partner ethnic armed organisations.
  • On Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee on Public Affairs under the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw and CDMers from Kachin State.
  • At 10:00 am on Wednesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and Township Public Administration from Sagaing Region, Magwe Region and Bago Region.
  • At 2:00 pm on Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Committee on Public Affairs and Job Creation and Income Generation Taskforce under the CDM Success Committee.
  • On Wednesday, the NUG Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation announced that there would be legal action against illegitimate permits and licenses issued by the military junta.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kani Township in Sagaing Region, a combined rally of six villages conducted a public talk prior to the Day of Human Rights and a protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • In Yinmabin North, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • On Thursday morning, the junta armed forces set fire to Paukkone Village in Htigyaint Township in Sagaing Region as well as Lelan Village, Tharephy Village and Ywathaaye Village in Pauk Township in Magwe Region.
  • In Taze Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in a village, where protesters held up anti-junta signs.
  • The Swiss Embassy in Yangon announced that Myanmar was not invited to the Developmental Cooperation Summit which will be held in Geneva in Switzerland in the second week of December.
  • On the border of Madayar Township in Mandalay Region and Sagaing Township in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been invading local villages at night and thus, thousands of local people have had to run away.
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, local PDFs raided Balone Village and confiscated guns. As a result, the village administrator was sent tfor interrogation by the junta.
  • In Naypyitaw youths protested against the junta’s death sentence for seven students from Dagon University and the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Mingalardon Township in Yangon Region, Urban Guerrillas conducted a remote bomb attack on Myoma Police Station on Wednesday night.
  • The Red Wolves of Mogok announced on Thursday that they had to cancel five operations against the military junta because some local people failed to follow their warnings.
  • The United States Senate approved of the National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA) which contains points for more action against the junta army and more support for democracy in Myanmar.
  • In Pulaw Township in Tanintharyi Region, PDFs opened fire on three stations of the junta armed forces, including at the city hall, on Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to the communication team of the Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC), the military junta is preparing to sue Reverend Dr. Hkalam Samson.
  • In Hpapun District under the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 5 in Kayin State, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked junta army camps on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, they gained control of some camps with many casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Namsam in Shan North, there has been heavy fighting between the junta armed forces and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) since Wednesday. According to locals, the junta army has been using both air strikes and fighting on the ground.

The Military Council

  • On Wednesday, the Rev.Thian Lian Sang, the religious leader of Falam Christianity in Mandalay, was sentenced to 23 years in prison by the court inside Obo Prison.
  • The junta Ministry of Education called for an open tender for stationery for students in the 2023-24 academic year. Reportedly, the stationary was bought at more than the current market price. According to Khit Thit, the profit was divided between the junta Ministry and business people.
  • U Hla Soe and U Aung Than Oo, the junta’s former Yangon Regional Chief Minister and the junta’s former regional Economic Minister, received long-term prison sentences.
  • According to the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, all areas of the country have suffered restrictions on power supply in turn, due to insufficient power production.
  • There has been technical cooperation with Russia to develop iron and steel production in Myanmar.

Summary on 9 December

  • Against the calls of local and international people, the junta armed forces have been burning villages and killing civilians. They just keep committing war crime.
