Student dies after falling from Yangon university building

A second-year student of the Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL) in Kamayut Township, Yangon, died after falling from the four-story school building on University Avenue Road.

According to a statement released by the Yangon University of Foreign Languages Students’ Union, the student, who fell from the building at 11:00 a.m. on 28 June was studying German.

A spokesperson from the YUFL Students’ Union said to Mizzima: “We have published all the information [we  have]. We don’t know exactly why he fell from the school building, we are still investigating. We have no further information about the incident.”

He also said that the Students Union had contacted the YUFL Student Affairs Department for further information about the incident, but had not yet received any response from the school officials in the department.

The dead student’s body was taken to Yangon General Hospital by ambulance, according to other students.
