Ko Aung Kyaw Khant, a second-year nursing student at Mandalay Nurse Training School and an official of the Mandalay District Students' Union, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

She was sentenced under Section 50 (j) of the counter-terrorism law at Mandalay's Obo Prison Court on 26 December.

Ko Aung Kyaw Khant ,who was arrested on 5 June 2022, was the head of the Mandalay District Students' Union's news and information team and took part in the protests against the military junta following the February 2021 coup.
