Three members of the junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia were shot and killed in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei District at around 1:00 p.m. on 4 October by people’s defence forces (PDFs).

The PDF forces that carried out the killing said that it was an “execution” that had been carried out as part of the Nan Htike Aung Operation.

They said that the three Pyu Saw Hree members were attacked at around 1:00 p.m. in Panalell Village in Launglon Township. There was an exchange of gunfire with the PDF members before the Pyu Saw Htee members were killed.

A member of Launglon PDF, one of the PDF groups involved in the attack said: “They [the Pyu Saw Htee members] were supporters of the Pyu Saw Htee leader Nga Zaw, they were armed and causing problems for villagers, so we executed them.”

A homemade gun, three bullets, a motorcycle, a list of Pyu Saw Htee members, a driver's licence, paperwork and 63,800 kyats in cash were seized form the Pyu Saw Htee members, according to Launglon PDF.
