A five-member congressional delegation holds talks with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen during their unannounced two-day visit to the self-ruled island, prompting China to renew its rhetoric that it would "prepare for war" over Taiwan.

"We have a moral obligation to do everything we can to prevent an unnecessary conflict and Taiwan has demonstrated incredible restraints and discretion during challenging times," said delegation leader Senator Ed Markey.
