Villagers in Taku village, Tanintharyi Township flee due to heavy junta weapons fire

Following an attack by Myanmar junta troops and heavy artillery fire on Taku village in Tanintharyi Township, Myeik District, the inhabitants of the whole village have fled, according to local residents.

A local resident from Taku village said, “All residents in Taku village were frightened and fled during the attack when the junta troops entered the village and fired artillery.”

According to local residents, some dwellings were set on fire after more than 100 junta troops fired on the village. Similarly, junta troops reportedly fired with heavy weapons on nearby Inn-Shay Kone village as well.
