A young woman was found dead from unknown causes by the side of the road between three trees on 66th Road between 33rd and 34th Street in Mandalay City’s Chanayethazan Township.

A person who saw the body said: “We still don’t know whether she was murdered or not, people are saying different things about the incident. Some people think she died after crashing into a tree as she was riding a motorcycle. However, some volunteer groups suggested that, based on the way the front of the bike was damaged, it showed signs of being hit by a car that had thrown her body to the side of the road.”

According to local reports the dead woman was 25 years old and worked as an office clerk in Chanayethazan Township at the Pyi Gyi Myat Mhan ward administration office, though Mizzima has yet to confirm those details.

The Shwe Chi Social Assistance Association assisted in transferring the woman’s remains to the Mandalay General Hospital mortuary.
