Yangon PDF Central Command announces attacks after Kyimyindine crackdown

Yangon PDF Central Command announced that they operated four counter-attacks named “Pyan Hlwar Aung operation” against the Military which brutally crack downed on unarmed peaceful protesters in Kyimyindine township, Yangon on 5 December resulting in numerous casualties.

Five people were killed, 12 wounded and at least 15 people including two journalists from the Myanmar Press Photo Agency were arrested with serious injuries after Myanmar junta forces in a car rammed into an anti-coup protest on Sunday morning in Yangon.

Yangon PDF Central Command under the control of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced a statement on December 5 that they will retaliate strongly against the Military.

After the brutal crackdown, counter-attack operations were carried out in Sanchaung, Hlaing Tharyar, Dagon Seikkan and Khayan townships as part of the "Pyan Hlwar Aung" operation.

People Defense forces attacked the junta troops stationed in No.24, Sanchaung police station around 8PM and Khayan PDF attacked the Khayan township Police Station and Khayan Region education office where the junta forces stationed with a 40mm grenades.

Spring Revolution Flames-SRF attacked the administrator of Ward-9,Hlaingtharyar township and the junta troops stationed near the Military Garment Factory with bombs yesterday. A military owned Omini Focus YBS No.99 bus parked at Ward-61, Dagon Seikkan township was also attacked by two remote controlled bombs, according to anti-coup people’s liberation Force, ACPLF.

All four counter- attack operations reported several junta casualties, but the exact number of casualties is still being investigated according to the statement of Yangon PDF Central Command.

That inhumane crackdown on the peaceful protesters on the 5th of December revived the sounds of banging pots and pans, a symbol of opposition to the military dictatorship, around Yangon at night.

Protests erupted in some parts of Yangon despite tight security due to the crackdown and also people from Dawei and Mandalay Region protested by hanging and chanting the slogans.

An infamous informer who told the junta troops the whereabouts of the protest was shot dead around on the same day, and a house of a junta officer in Mandalay was attacked with a hand grenade as revenge, Mandalay Phoenix Force (M.P.F) reported.
