A Thai-Myanmar Songkran and Thingyan celebration is set to take place at Singkhon border crossing with trade fair and performances to boost the border trade, according to a report in Thai Visa on April 6.
According to the Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District Chief, Somporn Patchimpetch, the district and commerce-related agencies in the area will be holding the Songkran celebration at Singkhon border crossing in Prachuap Khiri Khan on April 11-14. The aim is to further improve relations between Thailand and Myanmar and stimulate border trade through a trade fair.
Singkhon is the crossing point into the southern Tanintharyi Region of Myanmar.
The event will features merchandises exposition and cultural exchange activities, such as performances, while a traditional Thai New Year celebration will take place on April 13 for both Thais and Myanmar nationals to participate.
