Families cheer outside Insein prison in Myanmar's Yangon as hundreds of prisoners are released by the junta to commemorate Union Day's 75th anniversary.
Junta chief Min Aung Hlaing issued the "pardon order" -- a regular feature of major holidays in the country -- for 814 prisoners, state media said.
"[My son] was sentenced to 3 years in prison for incitement against the military," says one mother waiting outside the prison.
"I hope my son will be released as soon as possible and I want him to stay with our family."
