The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In No. (1) Military Region of the Northern Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, the motivational medical team provided the IDPs with healthcare services.
  • In the second week of May, Minister of Home Affairs-NUG went to a frontline battlefield in Bago Region and met with the defence forces.
  • The People’s Defence Force under Ministry of Defence-NUG called on healthcare staff to carry out medical military service.
  • Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that the very first regiment (5101) was formed from Urban Guerrillas in Yangon Region.
  • At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
  • In Sagaing Forum held on 30 and 31 May, it was discussed to set up Sagaing Regional Consultative Council or a similar one.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yebyu Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army arrested and killed a local man from the town of Kalai Aung.
  • In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided a camp of local PDF and destroyed weapons worth of 300 lakh MMK.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was an attack using mortars on the station of Pyusawti members equipped with arms by the junta army in Ywatha Village.
  • In Indaw and Banmauk Township, the members of the ABSDF have been looking after the domesticated animals of local people who had to run away from local battles.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army set fire to Ywathit Village. Reportedly, over 3000 people from 5 local villages have had to run away.
  • In Salingyi Township, there was an attack on the junta police camp of Wan Bao Copper Mine. Reportedly, 2 junta policemen died.
  • On Yangon-Mandalay Highway, a junta army officer named Ye Naing from Taungoo-based Air Force was shot dead on Wednesday evening while he was riding a motorbike.
  • The Special Envoy of the United Nations to Myanmar, who has faced the criticism of the military junta and the opposition within her term of 18 months, will resign in June.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of Kyankhine Township conducted a protest against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, the junta army killed 5 local people and set fire to 25 villages within 4 consecutive days. Reportedly, 656 houses were burnt down to ashes.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In the area under their control, the CDF Mindat announced that there must be no trade of military equipment related to defence.
  • In the west of Mobye in Shan South, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via fighter jet on a security gate of Kayan New Land Army at about 4:00 am Thursday.
  • On the border of Beelin Township and Kyaikto Township under Karen National Union Brigade (1), a combined force of KNLA + PDF attacked Thantadar Camp of the junta army. Reportedly, both sides lost members.

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that there was a meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday to promote the relations between the military junta and Qatar.
  • The Chinese Embassy in Yangon announced that the junta Minister of Home Affairs and Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar exchanged views on the cooperation to combat drug trafficking and crimes across the border.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that the country needs about two million tons of iron and steel every year and a large amount of foreign currency has to be spent. Consequently, they carried out activities to resume the factory, which had been stopped by the previous government.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that Li Li Naing Kyaw, an extreme religious nationalist, had been shot by the PDF in Ward (2) of Yankin Township in Yangon Region and she had to receive medical treatment.
  • The junta Ministry of Home Affairs has been drawing up a project to identify and confiscate the licenseless cars from Thailand via Myawaddy.
  • The military junta awarded 3.33 billion MMK to Myanmar sport teams which had won in the South East Asia Games. Present on the occasion was the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
