Fifteen detained labour demonstrators received a sentence of one-month imprisonment or a K5,000 fine for contempt of court from a Nay Pyi Taw Tatkon Township court yesterday, state media reported on 14 July.
The group was detained in the township in May for trying to pass barricades blocking them from entering Nay Pyi Taw.
The workers, from a finished wood products factory in Sagaing, are currently facing charges for unlawful assembly, disobeying the instruction of the police and disturbing public order.
