The Indian Embassy is planning to shift it premises to Nay Pyi Taw.
News of this development came from the came from the Myanmar-India joint communiqué issued during the goodwill visit of Indian President Shri Ram Nath Kovind to Myanmar from December 10 to 14.
India said that they were planning to open a temporary liaison office in Nay Pyi Taw when negotiations with officials concerned from Myanmar government on land lease and other procedures have been completed.
Indian reportedly decided to shift its mission to Nay Pyi Taw to boost the current momentum in friendly relation between the two countries and progress being made in all sectors.
Many foreign missions have been opened up missions in Nay Pyi Taw but the Indian embassy is still running from its office in Merchant Street, Yangon.
