10 NLD candidates in Nay Pyi Taw spent about 70 m Kyat for campaigns

The total spending for electoral campaigns of 10 NLD candidates in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area is about 70 million Kyat in the 2020 general elections, said U Kyaw Tint, Lower House MP (NLD) in Takkon Township.

“The average spending of us (NLD candidates in Nay Pyi Taw) is about 6 to 7 million. We have 10 candidates, so total spending (in Nay Pyi Taw) is between 60 and 70 million Kyat,” said U Kyaw Tint.

U Than Htay, chairperson of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), who ran in Zeyar Thiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw, spent around 9.6 million Kyat, said the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory Election Sub-commission Secretary U Aung Soe Win.

Among the candidates in Nay Pyi Taw, National Unity Party Lower House candidate (Takkon constituency) made the largest spending with 9.9 million Kyat. People's Party candidate U Sein Win had the smallest electoral spending with only Kyat 300,00.
