Myanmar reported 1,022 new COVID-19 cases with a daily test positivity rate of 6.21 percent in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 488,875 cases on Monday, Xinhua reported.

The death toll increased to 18,388 on Monday after 29 more deaths were newly reported, the health ministry said in a press release.

A total of 441,371 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 4.64 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.
