Yaw Defense Forces (YDF) and Myaing-People’s Defence force (PDF) allegedly killed about 20 junta soldiers and policemen and injured many others in a joint raid on Minywa police station in Gangaw Township, Magway Region, according to a YDF information officer.

Some 40 junta soldiers and police officers were stationed at Minywa police station. The PDF forces attacked the police station at 7:20 pm on 10 February.

"There was heavy artillery fire. We went there to raid the outpost,” said an official from the YDF.

The attack lasted for almost an hour, and the military regime’s troops fired back with heavy artillery. Joint forces of local armed resistance groups withdrew without seizing the outpost for various reasons," the YDF spokesperson said.

Fighting resumed again on the morning of 11 February and the junta sent in reinforcements. A YDF member was killed and another was slightly injured in the fighting.

Fighting between junta troops and local PDFs intensified for four consecutive days from 5 to 8 February in the Yaw area of Gangaw Township in Magway.
