60 troops of junta allegedly killed in 15 battles within one month

Yin Mar Bin PDF leader Ko Sai said about 15 clashes between the junta’s troops and the People's Defense Forces broke out in December, killing some 60 soldiers.

Recently, fighting intensified between some 100 military council troops which launched an offensive with the reason to clear the area and joint local resistance forces near Nong Gyi Village, Yin Mar Bin township on December 22.

The clash took place near Nong Gyi village, about five miles from Yin Mar Bin township, Sagaing region, around December 22.

The exchange of fire lasted for nearly an hour. Heavy artillery and a small army are known to have opened fire on each other. Yin Mar Bin PDF leader said the casualties of both sides could not be confirmed. He said that after the shooting, the junta troops returned to Yin Mar Bin township.

In Yin Mar Bin area, the military council forces often carry out offensive operations under the pretext of clearing the area.

During each such offensive, local people's defence groups such as Joint forces from Yin Mar Bin, Kani၊ Pale and Monywa attack with mines and ambushes.
