AA occupy junta base in Rakhine’s Maungdaw Township

The Arakan Army (AA) occupied a junta military base in Rakhine State’s Maungdaw Township on 10 September.

The AA attacked the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 352 base on Paeywan Mountain in Maungdaw Township on 10 September at 6:17 a.m. By 7:22 a.m., little more than an hour after their initial assault, the AA had successfully taken control of the base, according to a statement released by the AA.

The AA either killed or captured the junta soldiers manning the base.

Later in the day, after the AA had taken control of the base, junta troops attacked it with helicopters and jets for the whole day and currently fierce fighting between the AA and junta troops at the base is ongoing, according to the AA statement.
