An alleged military informant was shot dead in front of his home in Athote Town of Yekyi Township in Ayeyawady Region on 18 August.

U Win Naing Oo was infamous for giving information about opponents of the junta, and he was killed by two unidentified men in front of his house at 7:30 am.

He was a motorbike dealer and the chairman of a local organization for free distribution of oxygen for COVID-19 patients.

“CCTV record in front of his house showed two men asking about motorcycle prices and then the victim was shot. He was actually a junta informant under the cover of a volunteer,” said a local.

An explosion occurred in front of his shop in July.
