The border security forces of Bangladesh and Myanmar are in talks to get nine Bangladeshi fishermen released, Anadolu Agency reported.
The fishermen were allegedly detained by Myanmar's border guards in the Naf River, which flows between the two countries, on Tuesday.
Lt. Col. Mohammed Faisal Hasan Khan, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh in the southernmost Teknaf district, said he had shared his concerns with Myanmar's authorities and are hoping for their early release.
