Body of arrested Lezin villager ordered retrieved

Body of an arrested Lezin villager, Ko Zeyar Lin, was ordered retrieved. His wife said that the resident of Lezin Sanpya Village in Monywa Township died after being arrested on 22 June.

The military council troops in five military vehicles arrived and arrested six villagers on suspicion of involvement in a school fire in the village at around 10 pm on June 21.

Family members were informed that 33-year-old Ko Zeyar Lin was dead among those arrested.

"When the soldiers arrived last night, He went to see his mother who lived alone as he worried about her and was beaten and arrested by soldiers on his way back. As I found it posted on the social media (Facebook) in this morning as follows: He was dead at Monywa Hospital, I went to confirm it. That is him (my husband).” his wife, Ohnmar Myint, told Mizzima.

Ohnmar Myint, 30-year-old, said that the occipital bone of the body was found with severe injuries.

Similarly, many wounds were also found in the face and all over his body.

Zeyar Lin is the father of Ma Nadi Hlaing, 10-year-old daughter and Maung Htet Phone Khant. 5-year-old son.

Locals said that Zeyar Lin, who died last night in Lezin village, Kyaw Moe Htwe, 30-year-old, Chit Htun Naing, another man and two women were abducted, and a man and two women were released halfway.

A villager, who did not want to be named, said that military council troops beat about 15 villagers and destroyed a tea shop. Five motorcycles were also taken away.

He said, “A fire broke out at a school in the village at around 9 p.m. at last night. In the midst of the commotion, a pro-army Dalan (informer) called for soldiers and police. Security forces came and beat the villagers in front of them.”
