Bomb Explodes near Western University in Yangon’s Htantabin Township

A local armed resistance group, From Zero to Hero, let off a bomb near Western University in Htein Nti Pin Village in Yangon Region’s Htantabin Township at 5 a.m. on 4 April, according to the group.

The group said that they later attacked a truck containing seven junta troops with three landmines at around 8am, after they had come to inspect the damage from the original blast.

“We got some information about the movement of junta’s troops in that village. Most village-tract administrators from Htantabin Township have been working for the military junta, and they are willing to comply with the military junta’s commands. Two of the junta’s troops were hit, and the rest were hiding under the seats in the car, which nearly crashed into the roadside”, said an officer from the From Zero to Hero group.

After the incident, the junta troops blocked the road and carried out inspections in Htein Nit Pin Village. They did not reveal what casualties they had suffered in the attack.
