According to a video received by Mizzima and currently being examined by the revolutionary forces, the fighter jet pilot who was captured has been identified as Major Khaing Thant Moe, aged 43.

Ko Khaing, a native of Mandalay also known as Khaing Thant Moe, gave testimony stating that he was compelled to seek shelter in the forest following the crash of his Chinese-made K-8 fighter jet on 11 November. He stated that he had to make an emergency parachute jump during the incident.

According to a major-level CDM from the Air Force who provided information to Mizzima, Major Khaing Thant Moe, a graduate of the Defense Service Academy (DAA) 44th intake, was last seen at the Namseng Air Force Base.

Reports indicate that Major Khaing Thant Moe was discovered soliciting food from residents on a farm.

As per the video, he falsely claimed not to have arrived as a result of the crash when apprehended

It is believed that his co-pilot is still evading capture.

Mizzima’s battlefield reporter, monitoring the situation, notes a notable decrease in aerial searches for the two pilots by the Military Council army. It seems junta are now conducting searches primarily with ground columns.

During the confrontation on 11 November between the Military Council forces and the combined Karenni forces in Phayar Phyu village near Loikaw, Karenni State, two junta fighter jets conducted an aerial attack. Ground resistance forces retaliated, leading to a crash where the two pilots executed an emergency parachute jump and landed in different locations.
