An explosion occurred at the South Okkalapa Police Station at the corner of Thumingalar Road and Thitsar Road in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon region on December 9.

Shortly after the explosion, the military arrived. Ambulances came and returned full of police according to witnesses. The explosion killed one policeman and wounded another in the leg, but Mizzima has not been able to confirm this.
