China's foreign ministry on Monday welcomed a deal struck at the landmark COP27 climate summit in Egypt, but warned there was still a "long way to go" for global cooperation in curbing rising temperatures.

The spokesperson also answered questions regarding Chinese President Xi Jinping's current status after Hong Kong chief executive John Lee tested positive for COVID and Philippine Navy's accusation of China coastguards "forcefully" seizing an object on the South China Sea waters.
