China has tightened security on its porous border with Myanmar after a Covid-19 outbreak that pushed reported cases on Wednesday to the highest daily tally in six months. There were 57 new cases reported -- the highest daily tally since late January -- including fifteen cases in the city of Ruili, next to Myanmar.
