Those who organize events, marriage parties and religious ceremonies in Naypyitaw Council territory will face action under the Infectious Diseases Eradication Law.
Naypyitaw Council issued its order dated March 18 to postpone all religious and social gatherings but some did not follow this order and organized these events and social gatherings so that the Naypyitaw Council issued another directive to General Administration Department (GA) and City Development Committee on March 26 to enforce this order.
The order issued by Naypyitaw Council banned all karaoke bars, massage parlours and restaurants to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The restaurants are directed to sell their foods only in the form of takeaway.
According to this order, those restaurants which fail to follow this order will be dealt with according to the law.
Provision in this Infectious Diseases Eradication Law carries imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding 50,000 kyats or both if found guilty in violation of the provision.
