The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw made a statement on 17 March to remove ethnic armed groups in Myanmar from the list of terrorist groups or unlawful associations and approved their fights for the establishment of a federal democratic union.

The statement also said that the arrests and detention for engagement with these armed groups are illegitimate and condemned all the arrests and charges under the Section 17 (1).

The Committee extended its gratitude to all the ethnic armed groups for their care and protection to the civil service personnel participating in the civil disobedience movements against the ruling of military junta.
